I liked the book, although I do prefer the podcast! Their interactions is what I love about it! Still, it’s a good book and it was a great way to learn more about Karen and Georgia!

This is one of the best nonfiction books I have ever read, and I wasn't expecting it. I was expecting to love it because I love the podcast, but not in its own right. But it was so brilliant that I wanted to purchase a physical copy and start annotating it right away. I listened to the audiobook and Karen and Georgia's narration was perfect, it made me laugh out loud and tear up and want to give it to my friends to make them understand the meaning of life. The essays were hilarious and I loved how they kept the same tone that they use in the podcast, which is really what made the success of My Favorite Murder. Their voices are unique and I loved getting to know them better. I read it right after a non-fiction memoir by a psychologist and I have to say this one resonated with me way more and gave me a lot more self-help examples and ideas.

*****5 is not enough for me to rate this book. My Favorite Murder podcast usually made my day, I enjoy listening it a lot. But the book has blew my mind and will always be my bedside book. (At least until the day of a better book will be written!) Don't worry It get worse This is not a book which you'll find murder stories like the podcast itself. Yet, so many precious lessons anyone who looks for it. Either you'll relate yourself with Georgia or Karen and they'll be an open book for you. There is so many things to say about MFM but I can say genuinely that this book is a hub for those who didn’t fit in and have no desire to do so. I had related with Georgia a lot and felt like we talked about our vulnerable sides without any hesitation. The book was my therapist and at the end I felt great. Somehow, I realized that my life mottos (yes! there is more than just 1) should be Fuck Politeness. Pepper Spray First Apologize Later. When you're in a Cult Call Your Dad! and so on. If you can apply all in your life, there is more chance to survive. Since we're all sweet baby angels being vigilant is just not enough especially if you're a woman. -- Stay sexy and out of the forest as much as possible cus life is a forest which you cannot escape but more importantly Don't get murdered.

So 2 factors might play into this rating. 1) I haven’t listened very much to MFM. 2) I listened to the audiobook and I don’t often listen to audiobooks. It wasn’t a bad book but it just didn’t feel very cohesive to me. I appreciated their ultimate message and how far they’ve come but I just couldn’t completely get into it.

Perfectly enjoyable to read, but a lot of the magic of these two is in their off the cuff interactions on the podcast. This book at times felt kind of preachy and awkwardly too polished, which isn't their usual vibe and isn't what I was looking for.

This book is such an experience! If you've ever felt like you had an experience no one has encountered or if you felt as though no one will understand your emotions, this book will validate your feelings. I often struggle with mental health challenges, as I lost my mom and stepped into her role, but this book made me feel seen. Karen and Georgia have been very vocal on their podcast through the years about the importance of prioritizing your mental health. Together these women have influenced multiple lives, created safe spaces, and helped many people understand that therapy is for EVERYONE. I cannot recommend this book enough to someone struggling, growing and grieving a past life, or someone moving to a new stage of life.

I've heard of but haven't listened to the My Favorite Murder podcast. I'm not even a fan of true crime. But I loved this book! These ladies are hilarious and their messages about taking care of yourself, friendships and other topics in this book are on point. I listened to the audiobook as I walked around my neighborhood and probably looked crazy as I laughed out loud!

This book makes you feel so good inside and will make you laugh out loud. I read it when I was going through a really hard time and it truly made me feel so much better. Karen and Georgia are the best and reading this books makes you feel like you know them personally when you go to listen to MFM.

Listen. I love my murder moms. There was some A+ advice in here. But do I think I’ll ever re-read it? Not likely.

I loved this book. This year has been a struggle for... pretty much everyone. And my mental health has not been at its best. I’ve been coping by listening to MFM pretty much constantly while at home, doing whatever my unmotivated unemployed self is doing at the time. I don’t really know why but this book uplifted me in a way that nothing has in a really long time. A reminder that, we’re all just people, no one has it all figured out, all you can do is try your best to cut through the BS and live your life... and go to therapy. I loved reading the stories that Karen and Georgia included in the book, and I loved the messages and advice as well. If you’re a fan of their podcast you will love this book.

3.75/5 A book that two girls wrote about theur lived and their true crime podcast. I can safely say that I quite enjoyed it. Karen and Georgia were so sincere and vulnerable, it drew me in from the start. Plus they read this audiobook and I love it when authors do that. Makes it that much better to read.

This book is by no means perfect, but it is enjoyable and I gave it such a high rating because as a true crime enthusiast myself the memories Georgia and Karen decided to share with us reminded me about much of my childhood and the ways in which I became obsessed with true crime. My grandma was the person who most influenced this obsession and since I have more fond memories of her than I do most people in my family this gave me all the warm and fuzzies. Anyone who loves the podcast will more than likely love this book even though it contains very little mention of murder, but it is fascinating to see these ladies evolution into becoming the podcast queens they are. My only complaint is I wish the book actually had more stories from their lives, but I get that they probably don't want to share everything.

It has the same witty, funny, and relatable characteristics that make the podcast so fun to listen to. There is a little bit of true crime thrown in to appease those who came for that reason. My favorite part was learning about Karen and Georgia and exploring their lives as they connect to their most popular sayings in the show. To anyone who doesn't listen to the podcast, I'd say it's about 4 stars because you may not be as emotionally invested!

It was better than I expected. Karen and Georgia rotated telling us stories and that was fun. I will say, you don't learn much that you didn't already know if you've consumed the podcasts. I also vastly enjoyed the audiobook over the normal book format. Part of it is the pacing of the book. It has pictures which is nice, but it's more like reading a speech or dialogue than what felt like a novel to me. I think it's a great book if you love the podcast and any related content. If you want a cool memoir to read, just keep in mind they assume you listen to the podcasts so they don't really describe references to the podcast well. You don't have to have listened to all of the podcasts to understand it. It's a good memoir for a dedicated fan!

I really liked finding out more about the people behind My Favorite Murder and hearing them talk more about their own stories. It felt like a six hour long podcast which I absolutely loved but it also makes it hard to rate as a novel. Overall, I would recommend it but it's not one of my favorites of this year.

I don’t know if it shows on my Instagram, but I LOVE true crime! So my co-worker actually told me about this podcast after I shared my unhealthy knowledge of serial killers. I’ve actually never really been into podcasts for some reason but I gave it try. I’M SO GLAD I DID! I usual listen to My Favorite Murder when I’m driving 5 hours home to New York, but I recently got super into it again and have been listening to all the old episodes. They kept mentioning the book and I just knew I needed to listen to the audiobook as soon as possible. . . . Well, I enjoyed it so freaking much! One of my favorite chapters is F*** Politeness. I have to admit there are certain situations where I’m too nice even though I shouldn’t be, BUT if I feel like I’m in danger, I do not mess around especially when I’m with my friends. I’ve known to be that person who gives dirty looks and yells “What the f*** do you want?” when it comes to guys thinking they can just come up to my friends and make them uncomfortable🙄 I think it’s a skill all women should learn that if you feel safe enough to do so, you don’t have to be nice to someone who is making you feel uncomfortable and won’t leave you alone. . . . All in all, I love the different messages they talked about in this book and how they integrated their own lives into those messages. If you haven’t read this book, that’s okay, but DEFINITELY listen to the podcast if you like comedy and true crime. SSDGM🔪 . . Where are my Murderinos at??!!

I’m going to sound like a blubbering mess because this book is incredible and I just feel so proud of Karen and Georgia for their first book. Listening to Karen and Georgia is like spending time with two dear friends and will nourish your soul. Through their experiences, they give you inspiration and are your personal cheerleaders. They tell you to pay attention to your instincts. This book mentions true crime, but it’s more about their lives, their struggles, their experiences. I related to Georgia’s anxiety and Karen had me sobbing when she mentioned her mother’s Alzheimer’s. Karen and Georgia talk about their experiences with eating disorders, alcoholism, divorce, and jobs that felt like a dead end. I deeply recommend this book. Listen to the audiobook as Karen and Georgia narrate it!
