Did you read the Malazan Book of the Fallen and think, "I bet these books could be more tragic"? Did you wonder, "Why are the Tiste Andii even angsty? Like, they're mega powerful and basically immortal!" ENTER FALL OF LIGHT I NEVER WANT TO FEEL EMOTIONS AGAIN GOD GOOOOOODDDDDD WHHHHHYYYYYY ARE YOU HAPPY STEVEN ERIKSON ARE YOU HAPPY I BET YOU ARE BECAUSE OF COURSE YOU REVEAL WHY SANDALATH DRUKORLAT IS SO FUCKING TRAGIC AND EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS WITH ORFANTAL AND KORLAT AND HOOD AND GOTHOS AND THE ORIGINS OF THE T'LAN IMASS J E S U S It's a shame this book took me ages to finish because a bunch of things got in my way, but this was over 800 pages of me sobbing. This book is the meat to the bones of Forge of Darkness, & puts so many events in MBotF into perspective! Given that we know the endgame of most of the characters in these books, book 3 of this trilogy is going to be tragic as fuck... ...just the way Steven Erikson likes it. *spirals into the abyss*
