Super Sons Vol. 1 (Rebirth)
Reviews

Damian Wayne is one of my favourite DC characters, so of course I was interested in a book where he was a lead! He plays well off the younger, more rule-abiding Jonathon without them devolving into a Superman/Batman repeat. The book is quite lighthearted with lots of jokes. Would appeal to a younger audience, but also adults who appreciate these characters. They get into some fun (and surprisingly dark) situations in this first volume, and prove to be a hilarious duo that I want to see more from!

This comic book was unexpectedly funny and cute. It was fairly clean and on a bit light on the violence. And Jon and Damian are quite a pair.

I absolutely re-read this today because I am an adult and I can do what I want. I'm also home sick, so what I wanted was something fun to read while huddled into fluffy blankets. When I chat with folks I meet at Isotope, there's usually a "so what do you look forward to the most in your pull list" line of questioning and Super Sons is always my first answer, without fail. The second is Mister Miracle, and the third has been whatever new issue is out in the Dark Nights: Metal event. So basically I'm stanning the hell out of DC, which is something I never thought I would say.

Highlights

"Just climb on and piggyback—I'll leap across."
"Rest assured, you will never find me piggybacking on your narrow shoulders. I've managed to move across cities and landscapes without your assistance long before you had an 'S' on your chest."
i love damian so much (also i am on a damian kick if anyone wants to recommend good damian issues!!! plz)

"You faked being my substitute teacher during third period? You're thirteen and had the nerve to make up all that stuff and teach earth science to an entire class."
"Oh, I have more than nerve, Jon, and I didn't make anything up. I could've had a doctorate in geology at seven years old."
"And why didn't you?"
"Because my mother killed my professor and dumped him in the ocean."
i love damian and jon
