Oh, how I enjoyed Bess and Tank! They brought me so much joy! Bess Beringer's name may seem familiar to you, and it's because Bess is David Beringer's sister, who stars in Bountiful! I love when authors do crossovers like these. 

Last time Bess lived in NYC, she had a fling with an unforgettable man. Fast-forward to the present and Bess encounters Tank, her former fling, and he's the new trade from Dallas to the Brooklyn team.

As the quote says, they couldn't stay away from each other. The sexual tension and the chemistry was so high with this couple. Tank just couldn't get enough of Bess. And he was so amazing with her! Bess, on the other hand, still can't resist Tank, but she has a rule: no dating athletes.

My no-sex-with-athletes policy is looking a little foolish right about now.

I really enjoyed this new addition to the series. I had some problems with the first 41% of the story, mostly because I wanted to see or feel a connection between the characters, and I couldn't find it. Their relationship during that time was purely sex and no talking about anything else, which frustrated me a bit. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy reading these scenes, but I also want to feel that what they have is genuine. Thankfully, this got fixed and some heavy issues were discussed.

I'd forgotten how this feels, holding someone you love in silence, just because they need it.

Speaking of heavy issues, my heart was torn! Reading about Tank's experience with something he had to deal with broke me. I'm so glad that Bess handled it all like a pro! These two couldn't have been more perfect for each other.

Bess makes me want to get up and hike back to the top of the mountain.

I was so happy to see the OG gang back in this installment! We have Leo and Georgia (Rookie Move) and Patrick O'Doul and Ariana (Hard Hitter)! My heart almost leaped out of my chest to see them again, even more so on this one than the previous book.

"My motto is simple. In any situation I just ask myself, what can I get away with? And then I do that."

Overall, Sure Shot is a quick, entertaining, and steamy read, that also touches on some heavy issues, which will squeeze your heart.

i felt that the romance was a little bit rushed? but overall it was a really good book. 

i miss my bruisers family and it was such a joy reading about them in this book (although i did miss lauren and mike). will baby bayer be next?

Even though I'm not a big late winter/early spring sports fan, I've been missing sports something fierce this year. So much so that *if* hockey or basketball was on, I'd probably watch it at this point. Even if it's not my favorite. (Football forever!) I hadn't thought to try a sports romance and see how if it would fit. Until, that is, Sure Shot landed on my Kindle. Then I wasted no time. There are some authors I can count on to snap me out of a reading funk or slump. Sarina Bowen is absolutely one of them. That's been the case since I discovered her books years ago. Sure Shot was no exception, but it was indeed exceptional. Bess and Tank gave me all the feels and heat I want when I read. 

There's a reason — well, many — that second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes. Sarina nailed all of them with Bess and Tank's story. No matter how things went down between them in the past or what challenges arose for them, it was impossible NOT to root for them. It was obvious from the start just how smitten they were with each other, which made me all the more smitten in return. There were some hurdles they needed to get over and I admired how they did it together. 

I loved all the glimpses we got into the lives of some of my Brooklyn favorites from other books. Getting a chance to find out what's happening in their lives was the icing on an already delicious cake. Things might've been a little rocky at first when Tank arrived in Brooklyn, but the team — and their ladies — didn't waste *that much* time before welcoming him into the fold. Both Tank and Bess found where they belong and it made my heart so, so happy.

I hope Sure Shot isn't the last of the Brooklyn series. And maybe more than anything, I hope Sarina decides to write a spinoff series that follows the female hockey team that was mentioned towards the end of the book. You have no idea how here I am for that concept.

I always look forward to reading Sarina Bowen, especially when they’re her hockey romances. Sure Shot is the latest in her Brooklynaire series and is a bit of a second chance romance between two characters who used to have a fling years ago. Now they’re back in each others’ lives – her as a sports agent, him as a new team member of the Brooklyn Bruisers. I enjoyed this romance for the most part, but it’s probably one of my least favorites of the series. It’s not that it’s bad, but more like not as memorable as the other books in the series. Still, if you’re a fan of the Brooklyn Bruisers, you won’t want to miss this latest installment featuring this beloved hockey team!

Years ago, Bess and Tank met in NYC during the start of their careers and had the best sex of their lives for the few months they were hooking up together. It never developed into a relationship, though they were exclusive, so that’s why I say it’s a ‘bit’ of a second chance romance. Now, both highly successful people, they reunite when Tank gets traded. But starting anything up again isn’t the best idea when Bess wants a serious relationship with someone who wants to build a family and Tank has just gotten divorced and is on the rebound.

Bess and Tank were great characters and I loved seeing Tank’s sweet side when it comes to Bess. He is quite the grump to everyone else. I didn’t necessarily LOVE their characters, but I still enjoyed their romance and the way it played out. Even though this book can be read as a standalone, a lot of characters from previous books do show up. Bess is the sister of the hero in Bountiful, part of the True North series. We see nearly everyone in the Brooklyn and Brooklyn Bruisers series. They all truly become a family even though they come from different Sarina Bowen series, and it makes me so happy to see all the characters I loved reading together. Even though this isn’t a new favorite Sarina Bowen for me, I still love all the hockey romances and this one hit the spot for me.
