With the recent rash of angel books I’ve been reading, I went into this one saying to would have to work to stand out. 
It didn’t. All it needed was Kai.

Point 1: Anna is a cool character, the epitome of good-girl personified.

Point 2: Kai is omigod, so HOT!

Point 3: I enjoyed to new take on demons and Nephilim. It set itself apart from other Nephilim books I’ve read.

Point 4: have you noticed when there’s a boy and a girl, and they take a trip over a great distance, just the two of them, they tend to fall in love? This is the third book I’ve read this month in which such an occurrence has taken place, the first two being Alex and Willow from Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly, and Aria and Perry from Under the Never Sky. admittedly, Aria and Perry weren’t in a car, and I’m not sure how much of the continent of America they crossed, but it was just the two of them, crossing a great swath of land.

Point 5: this may be weird of me, but I love it when the chapters are titled. Its like, the author took the extra time to come up with a title for each individual chapter, and it just fees so special. Like a Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate with Almonds bar. Like, if the book is a delicious steak dinner, the chapter titles are the dessert.
Wow. I know I’m cheesy.

Point 6: I can’t believe Jay isn’t secretly in love with her or something. Boy-girl best-friendships are hokey, at best. Unless one of them is secretly in love with the other, than it's downright UNNATURAL.

Point 7: am sooo not waiting patiently for the next one. 

This book only has four stars, because I've been trying to reserve 5-star ratings for really Amazing-O-So-Astounding! books. this one didn't quite make it into that category, despite Kaiden's best efforts.

I won't lie. This has tons of flaws that had me rolling my eyes so much my head actually hurt. Wanna know some?
 Anna : she's everything I can't stand. Whiny, naive and too damn good.
 The non cussing : girl if you need to cuss at least do it properly, gee. And, please, I ask nicely, do not ever use the term bottom if you mean butt. Ever. Again. You're sixteen, for God's sake. Ugh.
 The Moral Aspect  : your dad is a Duke [AKA somebody very important] in Hell and he's like: aw, no what I did is wrong and sinning is for bad, bad people. Are you kidding me? DUH. 
 Now I bet you are wondering, is there some good stuff in this mess?
Surprisingly so, yeah. There are a few good things that made this not so torture like:
 The child/Demon Father relationship  and all its consequences, like the bandages, the Work and their limits.
 Kaidan : he had some bad moments that made me want to snap the Kindle App shut (I.E whenever the world Luv comes out of his mouth), but he's pretty much the only reason this book's getting three stars and not one. 
 Over all, this has something more than your average Angel book, but it will still be pretty much cliché for the most part. 
  Edit: it's actual two or rounded 1.5, due to frustration, cheesiness and where-the-hell-is-the-actual-plot.

It was an interesting and somewhat unique story with a good plot but I felt as though it could have been better. The beginning really pulls you in but I felt myself losing interest by the time I was in the middle of it. While it didn't exactly live up to my expectations I still liked it and found it to be a pretty good read. While some of it was enthralling other parts of it seemed too silly and a bit childish to me.

           Holy smokes! I loved this book. Thank you Goodreads for suggesting it to me. 

How can I put this in words. After reading the last TMI series book I thought nothing would compare. Well I think I may have been wrong. Sweet Evil has filled the hole in my heart left by Cassandra Clare and her two year break. 

Sweet Evil is a perfect mash up of old testament lifestyle and modern day living. By bringing to life characters such as the 7 deadly sins we are shown the true evil of this word.

Character wise, Higgins have provided us with such strong character development that we have no choice but to acknowledge their presence. **disclaimer: the following descriptions are a random assortment of thoughts. please take heed**

Anna: Still developing my feelings on her. Will update at a later time. 

Kaidan: Tall, dark, handsome and mysterious. What more could a girl ask for? Crikey I forgot trouble. Of course. Thus is what Kaidan is. Oh and with a British accent. Mmmm, Higgins has created the perfect love. Beware of this character and his plight, it will leave you dangerously close to lust. (pun intended)

Patti: Sweet, darling Patti. Precious, this one. She is heart warming and effortlessly perfect in her role as mother to Anna. Her character is written with such delicacy it is no wonder why I can't place a flaw. 

Jay: The best friend. How can you not love Jay. He is so pure of heart and loyal. It is impossible not to love him. His human characteristics are what make you adore him in the midst of all that is otherworldly. 

Ginger & Marna: these two should also be referred to as the sugar and spice twins. Marna is dainty and kind although her genetic make up is evil. She tries so hard to be good but its quite impossible when you are the daughter of Astaroth. And Ginger.... well Ginger is pure evil with a sprinkle of sugar. There's very little changing that. 

Blake: Actually haven't gotten a good read on him yet. Not much to say here. 

Kopano: Swoon. Oh my heart bleeds from Kopano. How I love him so. He bears the mark of wrath and yet has the most compassion. Wendy plays on the heart strings with this young man and leaves us torn. 

Belial: Random tangent: If you have ever watched bones my definition and physical make up of Belial is Angela's father. Tough as nails but one of the best Dad's ever! 

Parzuph: Bone chillingly evil! From the first introduction you fear this man. His hatred runs deep and it is apparent that he is doing the true bidding of the Devil where as the others are there merely to survive. 

Action wise: There is rarely a dull moment in the story line. Some stories try to give you background knowledge without progressing forward, but not Sweet Evil. This story gives you character building, moral testing, family drama and more. Its hard to pinpoint a favorite scene in this book because they all vary in terms of importance. 

Meaning: I think this book presents meaning to the 7 deadly sins which most have forgotten. Lust, Gluttony, Evny, Wrath, Pride, Sloth and Greed. These are things Americans participate in everyday but its no longer seen as an evil. I think Wendy Higgins does well to remind readers that our culture is dripping in sin.

I'm complete trash for this book. It's exactly what I needed in the moment something fun and easy. There is nothing like a good paranormal romance to get you in a reading blood! Was this book full of tropes ? Hell yes it was. Did I enjoy it? Every second of it!

I started this book last year, and for some reason put it down. I am now kicking my own ass for doing that. This book was soooooo good!!! I absolutely loved all of the characters and the whole plot line. My book has sticky notes throughout it so I can take notes. I am so happy I have the next three books, so I can just marathon my way to the end.

Pretty standard YA paranormal romance stuff. I liked that it swapped out vampires with angels and demons, though. That was a nice twist. It was fun and interesting, but nothing incredibly special. There was strong writing in some places, but weak writing in others. 

I will admit, the father-daughter stuff is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. Anna's relationship with her father was my favorite part of the story, and I can't wait to see where it goes from here. I'll be honest, this alone was why I liked this book and plan to continue. The angsty-teen-emo sort-of-romance between Anna and Kaidan kept me rolling my eyes too much to really enjoy their part of the story. That's not to say I'm not interested to see where they go. I like Anna better with someone else, but I've learned that I don't often get the pairings that I want in these types of books, so it's whatever. I'm more interested in seeing Anna's relationship with her father and how they progress in their... political situation... from here, though.

I loved this book! It was amazing, it had romance and action and also a different story about demons and nephilim. I really liked Anna, she's such a sweet and naive girl and Kaidan <3 I mean what can we expect from the son of lust? He was a jerk sometimes but it was necessary I really liked the characters and Kopano and how Jay, the twins, Blake, Veronica complemented the main plot. Really enjoyed reading it. You should go buy it right away!

OH my god, this book is fabulous. I thought it's be just another cliche paranormal romance, but the raw emotion and talent that pours into these words and this story just took my breath away. The concepts, good girl and bad boy, angels and demons, forbidden romance, are all well-worn and comfortable, but the novelties of the plot lines are just stunning. I mean, the books about kids whose whole life purpose is to be a bad influence. That is AWESOME. Not to mention its a great moral compass for situations like drinking and sex without being overly cautioning. Anyway, I thought it was a wonderful book and I can't wait to read the rest of the series

A good debut for this author. I enjoyed reading Sweet Evil, and this is more of a 3.5 than a 3. It wasn't the best book ever, but it was still entertaining. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Kaiden was quite sexy sometimes, but too much of a jerk for me. Although, ahem, the pear thing was very nice to read ;)
