This was a cute book for me. I loved the MFC. It was an enjoyable easy read for me. This book got me back into the romance genre honestly. It wasn't a super intimidating read and it wasn't really dark which I liked. This is the first book I've read from this author. So I am sure I'm going to enjoy a lot of her other books if this book was any indication of her work.

This book was a quick read but it was confusing at times and not my fav.

This is the filthiest I've read from Talia and honestly... a serve.

I was tempted to DNF this book as soon as it started because I felt it was veering a little too close to insta live, which I HATE, but luckily it was only insta lust. If you're like me and hate when there's zero slowburn, just hang on for the first 10% of the book because I promise it gets WAY better.

Talia Hibbert is masterful at a lot of things, but having read 5 of her books, I can confidently say one of those is giving you the best smut while also crafting fully developed characters, with their complexities and singularities. And also having badass, fat, black women as main characters which I adore. And also... a male bisexual love interest !!!! 

The third act breakup in this one wasn't so bad (although I sighed when I got to it, because I'd been hoping it wouldn't come in this particular case) and I loved watching Cherry realise she can't fake her feelings (Ruben, our male MC, is of course smitten from the very start. I love that about Talia Hibbert's books).

This was a good read :)

I have always been a fan of Talia Hibbert, and while this one wasn't quite my favorite book from her, it was such a delight to read. I really enjoyed the whole set up of the story and I enjoyed the interracial aspect to the relationship. I have found that Talia Hibbert does this SUPER well. I really enjoyed the blend of sexy with humor that she implemented. Even though there was a focus on the angst at points, the author balanced it out with well penned characters and laughs along the way. I enjoyed the sense of the "royalty" type of romance. I also enjoyed seeing how much background and focus we get on the hero and his journey. We do see element of child abuse, so know that going into this one. I also enjoyed the type of steam that is in the story. There is plenty of good sex scenes in this story, with a domineering hero and a light touch of BDSM. I don't think the BDSM aspects will put people off, as its lightly entered and fully focused. I also enjoyed the way in which our characters just connect to each other. This is such a fast quick read that will charm you endlessly!

Talia Hibbert writes some damn good steamy scenes that NEVER get old. They are literally perfect. What I will say though is, aside from sexual chemistry, I never got the feeling that these two characters were truly in love. It was 1000% insta-love and I would have preferred for them to have a deeper emotional connection. At least, a connection that grew even more outside of the sex scenes. I don't think the tension and conflict was woven well within the story so the ultimate conflict in the last quarter of the story seemed a bit hastily put together. All in all, it was a lovely read. I listened to the audiobook and was a bit hesitant about the narrator but he did a great job and his different accents were fantastic!

Another great Talia Hibbert book! I've read her Brown sister books and am looking to make my way through her back log. I really enjoyed this story and love how she combines her steamy romances with darker more serious topics. I think they are well balanced. I liked the steamy scenes and the mushy ones to :D Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because (as is often the case) the 3rd act conflict made me role my eyes a little. I also thought the "villain" was a bit too much, but per her authors note, she was trying to make a point so I can forgive it.

Loved the diverse cast, loved the granny, loved the side eye at the british education system. DIDNT love the instalust, didnt love the absolute lack of conversation these people have that isn’t just telling each other to *f@&£ off”, didnt love all the swearing (and I’m a fan of swearing but honestly I think it was a bit much), didn’t love the BDSM / D/S element because honestly where was the aftercare. I’m going to need more of it if you want to tell me this is a sex positive Dom/sub situation. If your dom tells you to go to sleep straight after maybe he’s not ready to be a Dom or maybe that’s just me idk. 

I’m giving it 3 stars because I definitely would read something by the author again and also my friend recommend it to me and I don’t want her to doubt her recommendations. But it’s definitely more a 2.5 for me.

Talia Hibbert is officially a new favorite author for me. Every time I pick up one of her books I read it in less than a day and I enjoy every minute of it.

The Princess Trap was certainly less polished than the Brown Sisters Trilogy but no less fun and sexy. I enjoyed the dynamic between Cherry and Ruben though I could've done with more bantering/connecting.

Also: the conclusion on this one wasn't particularly satisfying, nor did it feel like a conclusion. We have a huge confrontation in the second to last chapter-- a confrontation that would have HUGE ramifications that are just kind of glossed over in a paragraph in the final chapter. But other than that, wildly enjoyable and compulsively readable.

This book was a beautiful blend of steamy and sweet. The premise was good, but some of the storylines needed more room to be fully realized, or they were too heavy to be given the full weight they deserved. Overall another excellent book from Talia Hibbert!
