After I Do
Reviews

I have never been so stressfully invested with a book before. This story was beautifully told of a marriage fuzzily out and trying to work through the extinguished spark in it. I was really wondering what was going to happen and how it would end. I can’t say this would never happen to me but I guess it could to everyone and it just made my stomach pitch and twist as it went on and the actions they both went through. The writing as usual was beautiful and while I was stressed I was satisfied with the ending it had too.

I like when the right book finds you at the right time.

The way Reid writes about life is always the most beautiful thing I’ve ever read. Reading TJR I’m always so in love with the things she can say and the life lessons she adds to her books. “After I Do” should be read by everyone that is married or wanting to get married someday. It’s so real and if you thought it was cheesy you need to read it again- and this time understand it.

This book follows Lauren throughout her year-long separation from her husband where each of them try to figure out if they want to stay married after the year is up. Their time apart isn’t as dramatic/adventurous as you might think though, and a lot more of the book focuses on Lauren’s life outside of their marriage. It’s a cute read, but I don’t feel like any of the characters, plot, or ideas where standouts.

predictable, but sweet. maybe my least favorite tjr book so far, but o well. making my way through her work and they can’t all be hits !

Even though it took me forever to get into this book I still loved it. Because it wasn’t the book that was boring and hard to get into, it was just me not being able to find the time to read it. I adored this book and it make me think about my own relationship and what I want from it. Which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing as I liked that I could understand the mc more and what she was going through.

Okay, well this was the first book of TJR's I've read. It was okay. I wasn't fan of the whole dating others even though I understood the point of it.
I also liked the character development of Lauren but by the end, I wasn't a fan of Ryan. They're literally so similar but I didn't like him because I didn't get his POV I guess.
I hoped they're divorce in the end tbf. But they ended up getting together which I guess was good too.
I preferred Charlie, Natalie, Rachel and Grandma Lois to Lauren and Ryan. I read it for those four characters periodt.
