i think what i enjoyed most about this book more than the sapphic aspects of it was the different kinds of relationships it conveyed with every marriage. i know it's obvious that harry's was the most impactful, but it had the chapters i loved the most. 

i love how the book showed that platonic relationships are as complex as romantic ones, and i love how evelyn's vulnerability differed when she was with celia, coming from a place of love and passion, while with harry, it was from having a deep understanding of each other and visibility. 

i would love to read this again some time in the future with hopes that i get to pick up things i wasn't able to today.

I learned a lot of things from this book, especially about two different ways of loving. There were also some things that didn't always match my expectations; we all know that's just the way a story is presented. In my opinion, the storyline was quite slow, but that doesn't give this book any significant flaws. Evelyn's character is also very compelling, enough to make me love and hate her at the same time.

the seven husbands of evelyn hugo made for a fast read, it's one of those books you can easily pick up and get into. but the superficial characterization – perhaps a result of jenkins reid's whiteness and, forgive me for speculating but, possible heteronormativity – makes the characters unbelievable at times and corny for the remainder. 

something about the prose alos just felt overly literal in the worst sense, the best comparison is to a wattpad fanfiction. it reads stiff and comes across as "telling, not showing" – so much so that within 23 pages i felt the need to highlight an example to reference for my later review (evelyn speaking: "I've read your work. I like the way you communicate clearly and succinctly." – i'm sorry but really?) 

are my gripes with this enough to ruin the story? no, they're actually quite menial and nit-picky. but these small details are what separate the goods from the greats in literature.

This is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. Plot twist was prefect and unpredictable. It kept me on the edge of set the whole time. It’s touched on some emotional and important topics.

truly a page turning. can't even put the book down even when im already sleepy and my eyes are tired. read this long time ago, so i kinda forget the detail, but i remember enjoying every word of the book. (i was about to explore the author's masterpiece, but too bad she's a zionist)

while reading I got really immersed in Evelyn’s life story. Witty, heartbreaking and touching. Insane plot twist. Only the end felt a bit rushed.

           THIS BOOK IS AMAZING.
Despite being a book set in a period far from what we are experiencing, I found it very current. The issues it deals with are topics that still characterise our society today.
As society sees the woman for example, Evelyn talks about how she had to use her body to get some things in her life and, also about how men only saw her body and not her person.
It talks about friendship and how important this is, a strong emotion that can change a person's life. It makes you think about how important a friend can be.
It talks about forbidden relationships. This book is full of relationships not granted by society and the historical period in which the events take place, but reflecting on it, now how many relationships are not exposed due to homophobia problems despite living in a society with a more open mind than in the 1950s.
I highly recommend reading this book because it makes you open your eyes to a hidden Hollywood that is not granted to the public, it makes you open your eyes to how cruel the world of the spirit is to its artists.

If disappointment was a book, it’s this one. Sorry, not sorry. I loved Taylor’s writing so much in “Daisy Jones and The Six”. When I say so much, I mean that I’ve re-read it like three times. 

But this one didn’t land the mark. It was shallow and boring, the writing not even close to what I imagined. All I know is that I was glad it was over. The second star is only to show my respect for Daisy and the author who created her magic.
