I gave this book a one because it went on forever. Too much detail in one book. It needs to be put into 2 books. And I didn't understand it. It was like never the same character.

I wasn't incredibly impressed with this book. It started off interesting, some sort of alternate yet related current reality. Then came the last third or so of the book when Octavian's narrative broke off and the story started to be told by an amalgamation of "random artifacts/documents. The narrative became more colloquial and difficult to read. I found myself just trying to get through the book and finish it. I have no desire to read volume 2.
