The Daughters of Foxcote Manor
Readers of Lisa Jewell and Simone St. James will devour this haunting, touching story of mothers, daughters, and belonging--and the devastating lies families tell themselves in order to survive. Outside a remote manor house in an idyllic wood, a baby girl is found. The Harrington family takes her in and disbelief quickly turns to joy. They're grieving a terrible tragedy of their own and the beautiful baby fills them with hope, lighting up the house's dark, dusty corners. Desperate not to lose her to the authorities, they keep her secret, suspended in a blissful summer world where normal rules of behavior--and the law--don't seem to apply. But within days a body will lie dead in the grounds. And their dreams of a perfect family will shatter like glass. Years later, the truth will need to be put back together again, piece by piece...

This got a 7/10 on the cawpile scale so it’s a low 4! I loved the characters in this book and the story and atmosphere was SO intriguing. My only cons for it are it took some time for me to get into the story (and memorize who was who) and I don’t love dual timelines when they aren’t labeled at each chapter but that’s just me. I do recommend checking this out 😁😁
