About 60% through the book and this was my status: Slow read for me. Romance seems forced and unrealistic. Also, I lived in Salem, MA for 2 years and it wasn’t nearly as “small town” as the author is writing. Creative liberty and all that comes into play, however it’s hard for me to get past as a reader. I’ll finish the book although I’m pretty sure I’ve got it solved already

I finished the book only to confirm my suspicions as to who the murder was. I was partially correct in my guess.

Heather Graham did her research on the history of the Salem Witch Trials and the surrounding area. I give her kudos for that. That said, the murders, motive, etc. is not just over the top, it was straight up unbelievable and didn't work for me. The basis of this series is of course a bit over the top - that's what makes them guilty pleasure reads. This particular book however was just too much.

I used to have a category for my books for heroines that were "too stupid to live" and in politically correct phase I removed it from my categories. I wish I had kept it. Our heroine here really makes some seriously poor choices. Unless your name is Buffy you do not belong in dark cemeteries at night.

I will continue with the series - book 5 is waiting for me on the kindle.
