Beautiful and amazing illustration work done by Kent Williams. This book deserves to be read because of his masterwork. A true graphic novel with each page looking more like a painting than an illustration.

I've loved all the work done by Darren Aronofsky, but this time he stretched too much the symbolic and cryptic. The storytelling works more as a representation of all the stress going on in his life, than as contained artwork. We can feel the symbolism from his life (mother with cancer, and the bankruptcy of his production company for the film of the same name). Aronofsky managed to create the film, using a much lower budget, but it took him 6 years to do it. We can feel all this sad weight of the time in the way story is told. The storytelling gets fuzzy and melodramatic.

This is not the book of the film, this was made because Aronofsky needed to tell his story and was afraid to not be able to finish his movie.
