This was a very fun book to read. I liked how it brought so many fairy tales together. The characters were all likable and you couldn't help but root for Elizabeth. I look forward to reading the second book, The Wells Bequest.

I read this book when I was younger so many times and found it again at the library, and though it wasn't as amazing as I remember, I still enjoyed reading it so much! If your looking for a quick, fun read and love fairy tales, this is it!

Honestly? I enjoyed this a lot. I think I would’ve liked it more if we had more a more in depth problem that led into some huge grand scheme but gosh darn it..I still enjoyed it. The page’s job was literally my job for magical objects and so far I haven’t gotten any cool adventures attached. I’m waiting Target 😂👌🏻

Shulman took an absolutely incredible premise and threw it in the trash. The blurb on the back by Stephanie Meyer that I read when I picked the book back up after having read half, confirmed what I already felt about the book. Meyer also had a brilliant story idea that she utterly mangled and made facepalm worthy. If she raves about the writing, then... yeah.
I did not believe the romance. I could not get a grip on any of the characters. The love interest in particular felt like an absolutely abhorrent bore. Elizabeth, the protagonist, read like a middle schooler even though, I think, she's meant to be in high school. Shulman never really says. 
The only reason this book gets two stars from me instead of 1 is because of some of the halfway decent elements that Shulman managed to throw into the book before mangling them.

I have read this book at the most 3 times since I was in High School. This is the perfect book if you love fairy tales or the Brothers Grimm because it has that sense of magic that you don't get from other books. This is one of my all time favorite books because it sparked the imagination that I had when I was little about ordinary objects being magical and if there really is magic in the world! I would recommend this book to any age!

Elizabeth's new job is very unusual. The building where she works might not look very interesting but behind this ordinary Manhattan façade lurks a very special place indeed. Because here you can borrow anything your heart desires . . . And in the basement is something so special, so secret, that Elizabeth can't believe her eyes. The Grimm Collection. Powerful and mysterious items that must be kept safe and can't be lent out to just anyone. So when these objects start disappearing Elizabeth must investigate. But who can she trust? One way or another she has to find out who is stealing from the Grimm Collection . . . and for what dark purpose.
