This one took me a little while to get into, but once I did, I enjoyed the 4th wall breaks and the humor. It also took me a little while to warm up to our hero, Rowan. He was almost a little too grumpy at the start lol Bit, of course, I fell in love with him just as Bonnie did. The ending got a little more emotional than I was prepared for, but that's more of a me problem LOL. All-in-all, it was a good fun story.

I gave this book 5 stars because it had been a while since i really enjoyed a book. I literally laughed so hard while reading, Bonnie has no filter and loved grumpy Rowen. I love LOVE the sunshine and grumpy trope. 

I cried a lot too. I think I started crying around chapter 18, I’m not going to say why tho but I kept crying till the end. My eyes are still red. 

Anyway read this book you won’t regret it!!!

I was so ready to like this story, the plot seemed amazing, I loved the cover of the book, the highlands!!! 

But I sort of didn’t. I don’t usually dislike heroines. Even when people find them irritating, I enjoy them. That being said, I hated Bonnie. The quirkiness was so annoying it made it hard for me to go on with the book. I didn’t find her funny or witty. 

It’s sad cause I should have liked her. She and I seem to be going through a similar situation in life and so I was ready to connect with the character, but I couldn’t even sympathize.

The story was nice, but with a lot of cringe moments for me and the comedy seeming too forced. The heroine didn’t really let me enjoy it much. 

(Also breaking the fourth wall was a no for me)

This book is lovely. Great supporting characters and I love the banter between Bonnie and Rowan. Who doesn’t love a Scotsman who can bake??

My biggest complaint is the audiobook. I read this book on my kindle and audible and much preferred reading myself. I found the male narrator lacking and the female narrator’s version of Rowan was much sexier than the male’s. 😂 I really hate complaining about audiobook narrators because I think it must be a difficult job and I would never be able to pull off but I really think he was the wrong fit. 

Overall, nice love story with some fun banter and good friends.

the way this book hit all of my heartstrings and then some...

i was first introduced to Meghan Quinn with "A Not So Meet Cute" and instantly fell in love. this book was everything and more. i caught myself laughing when Bonnie made ridiculous jokes and on the verge of tears at other parts. my only complaint is probably how cartoon-y Bonnie felt as a character. i didn't like the lack of boundaries and her comments at times. she really did have her moments when she was being kind but it was almost negated by the 'quirkiness'. (view spoiler)[ i also did not appreciate the scene where Bonnie used sex to distract Rowen from him being upset about his family. it felt really dismissive and extremely ill-timed.  (hide spoiler)] however, it was really refreshing seeing her grow and change into a better version of herself (her standing up for herself and learning how to be there for herself? LOVE.) with the help of Dakota and Rowan. the male lead, Rowan, stole my heart the second he opened his mouth (who doesn't love a Scottish man? seriously?). he was rugged and hard and tough, until he wasn't, and i ate it up. seeing their relationship progress from enemies to friends to lovers was heart-tingling and the way the tension was built between the two, the actual conversations, ugh. i love.

overall, this book was a wonderful balance of light and heavy, cute and sexy, funny and serious!

For me this had all the elements of a great romance.

-Jonah from the Simple Wild, but in a kilt
-fluffy cows and nature walks
-new found self adventures
-small town setting and all the gossip
-besties
-a MC you just want to hug 
-family ties and loss

This book although funny, had some strong conversations to bring awareness to discovering one’s self, loss, and healing. I couldn’t recommend it more.

(1/2 star drop. Why?)
-The friendship was a bit toxic for me at times 😅 I found myself frustrated and disconnecting a bit.

Scotland, two best friends, a coffee shop, a grumpy Scot, and a goat?!? 

The perfect rom-com doesn't exi....I cannot even explain how much I loved this book!  This story is a quick and fun read, full of laughs and shockingly tears, both happy and sad. I loved the dual POV between Bonnie and Rowan, their inner dialogue is just as entertaining as the bantering between them. 

I don't know how I just discovered Meghan Quinn but I cannot wait to read more of her books! 


i am simultaneously in love and peeved that no one warned me how much this stupid book was going to break my heart. slow burn -> heartbreak -> true love is too much for my weak romantic heart. ————————————————

Appealing, right?

That is the story of Bonnie and her best friend, Dakota. Sick and tired of everything that they're were experiencing back in their country, they decided to apply for a job on a coffeo shop in the Highlands

But little did the know, they were about to begin their experience of a life time

It was amazing, well written. From the first page, you'll laugh and see how clever the characters and their responses are. I would give 5 stars to each of them. They all grow in one way or another. You could feel them change for the better

I love Bonnie and Rowan, they were so pure. Two broken souls made for mending each others. 

I may say that Dakota was a little big annoying but it was necessary for her to experience that in order to grow. Love it!

Bueno esa es la historia de Bonnie y su mejor amiga, Dakota. Ya cansadas de todo lo que estaba pasando en sus vidas se encuentran con la oportunidad de ir a trabajar en un pueblito de Escocia y, como estoy segura que cualquier persona lo haria, no lo pensaron dos veces y aplicaron

Sin saber que estaban a nada de comenzar el viaje que les cambiaria sus vidas por completo

La verdad es que me encantó todo, desde las descripciones, diálogos, TODO. Desde la primera página te vas a reír con todo lo que dicen y viven. Todos crecieron de algún manera. Tuvieron un desarrollo increíble y que fue para bien

Me encantaron Bonnie y Rowan (yo quisiese la verdad) Sus personalidades y problemas los hicieron uno para el otro. Dos almas rotas hechas para reparse entre sí.

This book was so good! I loved the friendship between Bonnie and Dakota, they complement each other and I loved reading about their adventures. Rowan and Bonnie were perfect too, I loved their banter and how their relationship started growing. Rowan was very grumpy around Bonnie but they were very similar and I really enjoyed their scenes together. 

Bonnie and Dakota have been friends for years and after being fired from another job, Bonnie takes her friend on her offer of moving to Scotland for a 6-month job. It was hard for Bonnie at first but little by little she found what she was meant to do and they ended up falling in love with the little town they were.

Rowan lived there his entire life and despite having friends he still had some problems with his family so it was hard for him to be truly happy with his life, until Bonnie came and changed everything for him. She challenged him all the time and despite fighting most of the time he realized she was the perfect companion for him. 

I also loved Dakota and Isla’s relationship, they were really cute and I really enjoyed their scenes together. The side characters were amazing too, it was a small town so everyone was like family and I loved how nice and accepting they all were when Bonnie and Dakota arrived. 

It was a wonderful story, Bonnie and Rowan were the best, their enemies to lovers relationship was perfect and despite their problems I loved how everything ended for them and how they got their HEA.
