Compelling writing.

Did not expect it to end like that

Nicole Dykeman

Definitely enjoyed this one, finished it in a day. I was invested in the story line and characters, and I kept bouncing back and forth between characters trying to figure out who was guilty. Worth a read if you like suspense.

Maggie Gordon

One big giant meh. Expected much more focus on the murder mystery, and instead got an in-depth exploration of the emotional breakdowns of several teenagers who I couldn't understand or relate to all that well. Back cover blurb suggests a completely different book that what readers will get. (Longer review to come)

When her father, an ex-soldier suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD, is arrested for murder, Emily's efforts to exonerate him take her into the woods to play the Game, an extreme version of childhood games.
