Awesome development from the first book.

I didn't really like Dawson in The Dragon's Path, but he really developed as a character throughout this book. (view spoiler)[At least before he was so brutally beheaded. (hide spoiler)]

Geder is fascinating and so frustrating at the same time, but you can really see the consequences his power has brought to the world. His meeting with (view spoiler)[Cithrin for the second time was hilarious. Very well done convergence of storylines. (hide spoiler)]

I'm happy to see Marcus (view spoiler)[branching out on his own. His and Master Kit's story sounds promising and Master Kit has revealed a few details about the super mysterious priests. I knew there was something fishy about them.  (hide spoiler)]

Cithrin was just as great as in the first one, but the character who really grew on me the most was Clara and based on the last lines she said, I'm sure she is going to play a major role in the next book.
