I picked this as something light to read (a palate cleanser of sorts) between more substantive fare. Despite my fairly low expectations, this book was a disappointment. The ending of the main and numerous interwoven secondary stories were all quite predictable, even artless in their clunky and sometimes rushed machinations that passed for plot. If you are looking for love and want to be soothed by the idea that there are many opportunities - be it your first or fiftieth time around - you may enjoy this book. Otherwise you'll feel alternately bored, manipulated, intrigued about flowers, and hungry for a Dungeness crab melt sandwich (from Pike Place Market in Seattle, where the book takes place).

This book had a lot of potential and let me down. I feel like, despite being a story about all different forms of love and stories of love, it was written without any heart. It did a LOT of telling and not showing and all of the characters were flat and we couldn't really get to know them. I kept thinking it would be better suited as a movie in the style of He's Just Not That Into You, and tbh would still watch the movie even though I didn't like the book

Predictable, cliché, boring characters. It's a shame cause I really wanted to like this book. 
The idea was very good but it was poorly executed and resulted in a boring story.

This is one of those books that start out really promising but end up being kinda crappy, as harsh as that sounds. It just turned into a really sappy, simplistic and unrealistic novel, even ignoring the premise of the gift of being able to see true love. I dunno, I wouldn't recommend it. Really really simplistic. Oh and (spoiler alert) why didn't Jane mention Dr. Heller and Kelly while writing in the journal at the end of the book? Like she just completely cast off their love. Kinda bugged me, I mean they were the only LGBT couple in the book and the author gave us like one line in reference to that, literally. So yeah, kind of a disappointing book, definitely not a must read.
