While this book doesn't just have something new and exciting on every page, I think it is full of many popular Percabeth moments.  It just goes to show much everyone and everything has developed during the series, more specifically Percy's and Annabeth's relationship.

 He was going to make Gaea sorry she had ever messed with Leo Valdez.

Percy just raised the standards to a unholy level like no one will ever reach it 

 "We're staying together," he promised. "You're not getting away from me. Never again.” Only then did she understand what would happen. “As long as we're together," she said. She heard Nico and Hazel still screaming for help. She saw the sunlight far, far above-maybe the last sunlight she would ever see. Then Percy let go of his tiny ledge, and together, holding hands, he and Annabeth fell into the endless darkness.

But he couldn't reach Riptide without letting go of Annabeth's arm, and Annabeth's strength was gone. She slipped over the edge. Percy fell with her.

PERCY WAS TIRED OF WATER. If he said that aloud, he would probably get kicked out of Poseidon's Junior Sea Scouts, but he didn't care.

"Yes," she said carefully. "It's on the Tiber River. I think I can find it, but I should-“ “Take me along" Percy finished. “Yeah, you're right."

Never met anyone with worse acting skills 

“Oh, no! Frank is turning into a crazy dolphin!” Nothing happened. “ I SAID,” Percy repeated, “ Frank is turning into a crazy dolphin!” Frank stumbled out of nowhere, making a big show of grabbing his throat. “Oh,no,” he said, like he was reading from a teleprompter. “I am turning into a crazy dolphin.”

Percy: "Hey, how's it going?" Annabeth: "Uh, no thanks." Percy: "Okay... have you eaten anything today?" Annabeth: "I think Leo is on duty. Ask him." Percy: "So, my hair is on fire." Annabeth: "Okay. In a while

Percy nodded absently. "But they didnt want to meet me?"

Pls check that first this can’t be good because it’s probably important 

Leo glanced back at the helm. He still had a nagging suspicion hed forgotten something

"Oops," Leo said, in his best Frank Zhang voice. "Dropped Leo into a squad ofenemy soldiers. Dang it!"

Omg who wouldn’t love them like pls Percy for the win in everything

“Aphrodite," she said. Venus?" Hazel asked in amazemnent. "Mom," Piper said, with no enthusiasm. "Girls!" The goddess spread her arms like she wanted a group hug.

She sus that hed had a crush on her ever since they rescued him and his big sister Bianca from that military academy in Maine; but Annabeth had never felt any attraction to Nico.

This book I already love it so much better than any Percy Jackson book yet

"Oh, no!" Coach Hedge barked. "Young lady, you a grounded" […] “make sure Annabeth doesn’t break any more rules!”

My Hero of Olympus series continues, and Book 3 is now completed, I love falling into a world and following along with Characters and the world that Riordan has created, He has such a power and passion for words that leave me just becoming lost in his world and not able to let go until the end of the season. 

Annabeth, Jason, Piper and Leo reach Camp Jupiter with their warship, Argo II, to tell the roman demi-gods that they must forget their animosity and team up with them to defeat Gaea. But things don’t go as expected. Leo, in the influence of Gaea, fires at them. Now the romans think it is the trick that Greeks want to destroy Camp-Jupiter. All the seven demi-gods, Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank and Leo escape with Argo II and go to the ancient land of Rome to stop giants from awakening Gaea.

But that's not enough. Nico is also missing. They must find him too.

That's not enough again! Annabeth, on her mother's orders, must follow the Mark of Athena which will lead to a thing which can help them to defeat giants.

This was such a fun and enjoyable listen, our heroes do have a difficult time as the start especially getting to grips will all 7 of them being on a quest, but throughout the course of the book they find their symphony. There are lots of amazing moment with each hero having their own moment to shine and I love each of the POV’s throughout the book getting to see the story from their perspective made is such a fun listen.  

The book combines love, action, friendship, loyalty, leadership and bravery, into one solid and good story, that even if it ended with THE BIGGEST CLIFFHANGER EVER, I still enjoyed every part of it.

I can't really review it without spoiling the book 1 and 2 but in the end when I finished the last Chapter I was alone at home and for a hole 8 minutes I was digesting what i just read I was literally shocked and impatient to buy the 4th book : the house of Hades

You finally have it. The Mark of Athena. After a year of long, hard, grueling waiting, now it’s in your hands.
But (if you are me) before you open you spend about five minutes lovingly stroking the spine and staring amorously at the cover.
Just as you start to open the book, however, the image that you’ve been staring finally hits your brain.
You flip back to the cover.
“Wait…what? Is that… Percy and Jason… fighting? WHY?!?!?”
That happened to me.
But no worries, that scene occurs pretty early on in the book (Which in my world means in the first half) so that mystery won’t be left sitting there in your head for too long.
Especially now cuz I’ve told you about it. If I hadn’t done that, you might not’ve noticed it.
Muhahahaha.
Okay, so this one is narrated from four pov’s, Percy, Annabeth, Leo and Piper. The absolute ‘couple’ of the group, my favorite character, and half of the next main ‘couple’. Do Percy and Annabeth have relationship problems? Depends on how define ‘relationship problem’. I didn’t define what happened as one, but someone else might.
Do Jason and Piper have Relationship Problems? All I will tell you is that the word ‘break-up’ is mentioned.
So, we all know this book was the quest to go find Nico. We all knew this beforehand, correct?
Yeah.
Oh, and Hazel, Leo, and Frank FINALLY find out how Leo is connected to Sammy. Finally. Seriously, you guys are slow. I knew what was going on there at the end of the Son of The Neptune. It took them until almost halfway through the book to figure this out.
Annabeth has a special quest she must go on to follow ‘the Mark of Athena’ which is basically this quest that some children of Athena are given every generation to go find this big statue of Athena. So far everyone has failed and died miserably. Guess what? Annabeth doesn’t.
SOOO didn’t see that coming.
But also, in finding this statue, apparently one can solve and stop the rivalry that has been going on between Greek and Roman demigods for centuries. That’s right. They hate each other because someone lost a statue.
Call me crazy if I don’t entirely buy that.
So, despite the fact that find the plotlines of these books are at times extremely transparent and I am often sarcastic about it afterwards, do not be fooled. I LOVE these books.
And I so don’t want to wait a whole nother for the next one!!!!!
My god, Rick Riordan, can’t you write faster?
I’m sorry, as an aspiring author, I shouldn’t have said that. I know it will come bac and bit me the butt one day.

Reread. I wish I remembered my initial reaction and thoughts when reading the ending! So many funny and wholesome moments between the seven, and we get more Percabeth. I find it so funny that Rick probably (definitely) was thinking of a cliffhanger and ended his thought process with “hanging from a cliff sounds good”😭

Love Percy and Annabeth, I felt bad for Echo though :( overall a great book!

Engrossing. Engaging even though it's a bit of a cliffhanger. I just love being in this world Rick Riordan built. I appreciate that the story was told through different perspectives. I love how the conversations continue to be realistic and sarcastic simultaneously albeit the uncanny setting. I can't wait for more!

Okay so to be more coherent, this book is my favourite because the Seven of the Prophecy have finally assembled! I love that they are all becoming friends and forming strong bonds. Jason and Percy can actually do some pretty cool things when the work together, I mean look at that epic hurricane. Annabeth proved once and for all that she is not only the cleverest child of Athena, the only one talented enough to find and outsmart her way to finish the Mark of Athena, but she is the leader of the Seven, especially when she puts Percy and Jason in their place and gets the head of the table. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE FINALLY GET OUR PERCABETH REUNION. ALSO, PERCY SUMMONING THE WAVE THAT SAVED THE GIRLS IN CHARLESTON, THAT WAS SO COOL! Nico even said that Percy is the most powerful demigod he's ever met.

the ending always got me .... man. MAN. also can i just say that reading the house of hades right after finishing the mark of athena without having to wait one excruciating year is such a luxury. 13 years old me is crying

4.8 BECAUSE THAT ENDING WAS ICONIC!! at first it was so slow i felt like i was the one in the quest to go to rome but anyway love how much depth we got from all the characters...ANNABETH WAS SUCH A BADASS AND SMART THOSE LAST CHAPTERS I LOVE HER EVEN MOREEEEEE. laughed a couple of times as well bc leo or percy most of the time <333

YES YES YES but also NOOO. The dream team is finally united (and by that, I primarily mean Percabeth! is! reunited!) and after accidentally ridding their chances of a Roman alliance, the seven are off to continue trying to fulfill the prophecy. If that wasn't hard enough, Annabeth's stuck with her own seemingly impossible quest, to follow the Mark of Athena in Rome and avenge her angry mother. 

I loved it!! Of course, Rick Riordan's books are always hilarious, but I felt like The Mark of Athena was also a bit more serious in approaching the complex thoughts and relationships between each character. Each character noticeably self-reflected more, too. All of their lives are incredibly intertwined - and yet, each character speaks with individuality and has their own unique thoughts and habits. They are easy to distinguish, despite the similarities between their stories. With that being said, there were also many much appreciated lighthearted moments and sweet moments. And of course, action. Always action.

The changing points of views were fantastic because we got to understand everyone's thoughts, doubts, concerns, insecurities, etc. Not to mention it gave plenty of opportunities to throw in cliffhangers. I have to say Piper and Leo really grew on me during this book. I mean, I always loved Annabeth and Percy (especially together *giggles uncontrollably at adorable Percabeth-ness*) but I feel like Piper and Leo really matured as characters in this book. I liked that they had very real, very relatable insecurities. Piper was worried about Jason's attachment to his Roman heritage and Reyna, and also frustrated that she wasn't doing enough compared to everyone else. Leo was told that he was the seventh wheel - and of course, he kind of screwed it all up in the first place. They felt like people to me.

Honestly, my one complaint is how could you possibly think it was acceptable to leave Percy and Annabeth falling into Tartarus at the end of the book?! Why? Why, why, why why why? Way to leave the Percabeth shippers literally in hell, Rick Riordan.

i forgot how angsty this book was. i remember reading this for the first time when i was younger, and being SHOCKED at the cliffhanger and then having to wait for HoH to come out a year later. the pacing in this one did drag a little about 3/4’s of the way in but it definitely picked up by the end
