Teague O Malley, hates his parents with a passion. He despises the family business and will do anything to get out, even if that means betrayed them by working with the FBI. But Teague is determined to save his brothers and sisters from the path their parents are forcing them to take. Teague has no choice, when his fathers word is law....literally. When he says jump....his children jump or face dire consequences. Oh good ole Teague...there is so much that I want to say about his character and so much that I grew to love and admire about him. He is loyal, honorable and a fighter. He doesn't give up even if it means the cause might be hopeless and not much chance of succeeding and could mean his termination by his own family. But Teague is honor to the core, and has worked hard to be that...no matter how difficult it is for him. He loves his siblings with a fierceness and so protective of those he loves.

Callista Sheridan is Teague's match in every way. She is a fighter too, but she fights in a different way. Callie was a heroine I liked from the first chapter. She is strong, tenacious and stubborn to a fault. Unlike Teague, her father is a man she loves and adores. Callie lost her brother, her only sibling. Now she is the only one left to carry on the family tradition. She knows that one day she will be responsible for the company, and she knows her father is not in the best of health. It is up to her to make sure the family business is legan and honest before his health deteriorates futher or she might not be able to hold it from the other men in power in their family business and causing a war among them. Callie hides a dreadful secret, a secret that huants her in her nightmares and she knows that one day she will have to pay for it, and Callie knows it could be her death. I loved Callie so much because she is vibrant and strong. I loved her courage and strength of will to do what needs to be done.
 
  
    Plot and Story Line 
  
 
Katee Robert is a new to me author and I want to thank Caffeinated Reader for convincing me with her review that I had to try this one out. I was lucky enough that when I looked it up it was on sale for 1.99---but I think it went back up to 5.99. So I got luck with that deal for sure, and I think it was just for the day. I have gotten hooked on Mafia themed romances...and don't ask me why I have falled heads over heels with this trope but I am loving what I have read so far, and Katee Robert is my favorite author in writing it. Dang, can she write a romance I can't get enough of and seriously I have to wait months ----MONTHS PEOPle!! Like really, I have to wait that long....unless I get lucky enough to obtain the ARC, which my luck isn't always good so we will see what happens. *crossing fingers*.

Anyway, this story is simply amazing. It starts off a marriage of convenience. Now I don't think I have read this trope before in Contemporary romance, so this was new and fresh and I just soaked it all in with every page that I read. I actually love this trope, and it doesn't get used that much lately, so I was really excited to start this book. And wow, it defintiely worked for the story. In fact, it is part of what makes this story simply fabulous. We have two people, that are trying to make their lives and the lives of those they love better. They are stubborn and courageous and strong. Equally matched in temperments. Our hero, isn't a big fan of having to marry someone just to help out with the family business (which he loathes). However, when he meets our heroine, he sees her bruises and the dark circles under her eyes, and he sees a fighter and a woman he would feel honored to marry. He is a protector and from the beginning, he wants to know her for herself, and make the best of their arragement. I loved that about this hero. He makes the best of each situation...no matter how dire.

  There are no guarantees but...I want your ring on my finger and you in my life for as long as we're granted. Not because of your family or my family or consolidating power or anyo of the other reasons that originally drove us to agree to this marriage. I want you, Teague. I Choose you

The plot is quite full of intrigue and spice and man the passion that explodes between these two is powerful and exotic.You can practically feel the steam coming off the pages. But there is so much more to this story than just heat. There is strength, depth of emotion and vividly portrayed moments that will want you to read as fast as possible because this story is so delectable you can't seem to get enough!!

The Marriage Contract (The O'Malleys #1) by Katee Robert introduces readers to a new and different take on Mafia Romance with the kids of three families (O'Malley, Sheridan and Halloran). The siblings for the O'Malleys are Aiden, Carrigan, Teague, Cillian, Sloan, Devlin and Keira. 

The Marriage Contract is about Teague O'Malley and Callie Sheridan. Loved these two. They had great chemistry and fun banter. His father is not a good man to his kids and her father is. Easy read a side from the many characters and different families. 

Loved the family drama and the secondary characters were perfect and all played a good roll in the storyline. Some more than others. A good amount of teasing readers who the next characters will have their own story. James and Carrigan I could not get enough of.

Okay, I wanted smut but I got smut AND pain. How are you going to leave me crying on my way to teach middle schoolers? Not cool, Katee, not cool at all.

The Marriage Contract is a book I probably should've read before now. I've enjoyed Katee's Brazen books and I was certainly intrigued by the whole arranged marriage with mafia ties plotline. But, you know how it goes... so many books, so NOT enough reading time. Being totally honest, it did take me a little bit of time to get into the storyline, but I think that was just my mood. Regardless, I'm glad I picked this one up (and that I had the second book in the series all queued up) because I am loving The O'Malleys and am fascinated by the world that Katee has built. 

I really liked both Callie and Teague. They were both great, strong, devoted characters. It might not've been a "love match" between them initially, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching how things grew between them as they spent more time together. They shared some super hot chemistry and both had the best interests of their families at heart. Of course, this would turn out to be a conflict later in the book but my god it was so, so, SO damn good. I knew this one piece of information would come back to bite the characters at some point, but I had absolutely no idea how everything would play out and I loved that. Not only was I kept guessing but I was on the edge of my seat more often than not as events unfolded. But, I digress. Callie and Teague? What a great pair. The sexy times were off the chart hot and I just couldn't get enough of these two. 

I wouldn't call this book dark necessarily, but it was definitely a bit darker than the books I tend to read most often. That was probably one of my favorite things about it though. The mafia world was intriguing, even if I didn't always understand the nuances and motivations of the characters. Speaking of the characters, there's quite a cast here. I enjoyed getting acquainted with each of them (well, mostly) and can't wait to learn more about the others as the series continues. The Marriage Contract gave me everything I want in a book: great characters, edge of my seat action, SUPER HOT sexy times and even some feels. It was edgy and dangerous, yet romantic at times. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more about the O'Malleys.

I’d previously only read one other book by Katee Robert (Falling for His Best Friend) and utterly adored it, so I was looking forward to reading the author’s other books. I was especially looking forward to this one, since I’m a big fan of mafia books. The Marriage Contract sounded right up my alley, and that blurb had me hooked! I didn’t end up entirely loving this book, but I really enjoyed it – it’s a promising start to The O’Malley’s series, and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this series.

Callista “Callie” Sheridan is heir to the Sheridan mafia family, and as the heir her duty is to do anything and everything that benefits the family – including an arranged marriage with one of the O’Malley’s, a rival mafia family. As much as she opposes an arranged marriage, she takes her job as the heir seriously, but once she gets a glimpse of her fiancé, she’s not as reluctant to enter into the marriage.

She immediately dropped her eyes, but only for a heartbeat. “How am I looking at you?”
… “Like there are a thousand thoughts rushing behind those beautiful blue eyes and every single on of them involves up, naked and sweaty.”

Teague O’Malley wants nothing better than to take his siblings away and escape from the mafia life. Unfortunately, his father has other plans for him. He’s ordered to marry the Sheridan heir to form an alliance between the families. But upon their first meeting, Teague is intrigued by Callie and his protective instincts rise when he sees bruises on her neck. Both are incredibly attracted to one another, and the author did a great job amping up the chemistry between the main characters.

I didn’t connect very well with Callie or Teague, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy their characters or story, because I did. I liked how both Callie and Teague grew so protective of each other. The Hallorans, the other prominent mafia family in their city, want to start a war with the Sheridans and O’Malleys, and Callie and Teague are in danger. They go to great lengths to protect each other and their families, all the while taking time out to spend as much time together. They easily fall for one another, although Callie hides a secret that could tear them apart. Both are loyal, passionate, stubborn people, and I really enjoyed the way they just clicked together.

Overall, I liked this book, though it wasn’t what I expected. There’s a ton of stuff going on between the three mafia families, and it was nearly difficult to keep up with everything. The plot, intriguing as it is, sometimes overshadowed the romance, which I wasn’t a fan of. Still, it’s a good first book to this series that I expect I’ll come to love. I’m actually really excited for the next book, Carrigan and James’s story! Carrigan is Teague’s sister and James is a Halloran, so I’m VERY intrigued to see how the story will play out with such an antagonistic couple.
