The Mastery of Self A Toltec Guide to Personal Freedom
Reviews

Similar feelings to the four amendments. The initial beliefs are true and I completely agree. Some of the examples are a bit unnecessary or not so simple as he makes it but the general consensus makes sense; well written also

I went into this book with an open mind, not really knowing what to expect, but being aware that many people consider the writing of don Miguel Ruiz one of the most important influences on their spiritual lives. I enjoyed the beautiful writing of this book. I could imagine myself sitting around a campfire listening to the author's soothing voice teach me all I need to know about becoming one with my spirit. But then I got to the parts that were harder for me to contemplate. For example, I love the idea that one is responsible for his own happiness, and that happiness and love are living energies flowing through all of us at any given time. I do not, however, agree with the idea that no marriage can ever really work because you are both promising to be responsible for the other's happiness. Just because something is not possible 100% of the time does not mean it's not possible or not good. Overall I enjoyed this book and plan on reading more of the author's works. If you are a spiritual person, I have no doubt that you will find many of Ruiz's ideas intriguing. If you are not a spiritual person, I encourage you to read his work with an open mind and an open heart. Even if I don't agree completely with the author's ideas, I have no doubt that he is one of the most kind and generous people to ever walk the planet, and his words are still soothing for both the soul and the spirit.

Such a good book. If you are in search of self love, and fulfillment of self. This is a fantastic book.also talks about how loving yourself is the key to loving others. How love can heal the world. Sounds cheesy but when you read it, it makes a ton of sense.

This book was good and it taught me a great deal of self-love. I would say the only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because some parts didn't make sense and what was mentioned in The Four Agreements was mentioned in this book too. I would still recommend this book to anyone who struggles with self-love. You don't need validation from anyone else you can give that yourself on a daily basis and it will probably feel better coming from yourself too.
