This was really enjoyable and I will always enjoy the way Cassandra Clare writes but it feels like there’s a disconnect between James’s character in the books and him in the Midnight Heir. I’m assuming that it’s because this was before the story was fully fleshed out, anyways, this doesn’t make the short story bad however! It was still so nice to see the characters, especially the trio and Magnus :)

i honestly forgot how obsessed or confused i was with this james herondale, and i read tlh with little recollection of this short story. hence, when i passed by a tumblr post stating that tmh james and tlh james cannot possibly co-exist, i fucking gasped. because WHY IS THERE a disconnect between these stories... i'm mourning this james, this james who is "damned" and intoxicated by his feelings towards his family and loved ones, and especially his "grace." i'm mourning what could have been if cc erased the whole james-cordelia-matthew love triangle and focused instead with the grace-james-cordelia dynamics. i wish cc acknowledged or proceeded with the fact that james and grace did LOVE each other!!!! that in a way, it was forbidden. i wished james did not hate grace so much (like i get it, but think about what could have been ://). i just wished cc wrote tlh differently because she had the perfect set-up and well-loved characters... but honestly, tlh wasn't really that good.... oh well, rambles and wishful thinking!

           Possibile che tutti gi Herondale sono strafighi e depressi? Vorrei incontrarne uno felice tutto il giorno e con un nasone epico e grasso magari.
A proposito di brutto e grasso ovviamente Will si è mantenuto figo dopo 25 e passa anni e Tatiana invece? una cessa che dimostra 20 anni più di quelli che ha. Coooosa? Perché? che senso ha mettere la 'cattiva' brutta e perfida? non è la strega di una fiaba eh, non serve proprio. E la 'figlia'? stendiamo un velo pietoso. Fortuna che c'è stata poco perché sembrava peggio di Tessa SonoUnaMarySue Gray.
Parliamo di James. Prima di tutto il nome. Soltanto a me sembra veramente veramente da bastardo chiamare il figlio come il migliroe amico a cui hai fregato la ragazza? Uhm. 
Lui poi diventa 'ombra' COSA? ovviamente ha sangue di demone visto che Tessa ha sangue di demone, ma perché per lui è negli occhi quando per Tessa non ha nessuna apparenza fisica? e poi che marysuata, insomma ok magnus lo ha negli occhi ma proprio non lo volevi rovinare questo fighetto eh? farlo tipo rosa a poix neri? 
Il mio ebook reader mi ha regalato la parte più divertente del libro, ma solo perché cambiava pagina in un punto particolare, ed io sono scoppiata a ridere:

Il ricordo di Will da ragazzo era ancora così vivido in lui che fu uno shock rivederlo ora, più vecchio, più largo

Io qui sono scoppiata a ridere immaginandomi un Will appesantito dagli anni e dalla buona cucina ma poi girando pagina ho letto ' di spalle ' e ho capito che il mio ebook reader è un genio del male.
Poi Tessa e Will scrivono taaaante lettere a Magnus, perché ovviamente non fanno altro che dire che sono amicissimi del cuore, ma queste lettere a Magnus non arrivano mai.
Ora, non vi vedete da 25 anni, come cavolo è possibile che non vi siate accorti che in 25 anni magnus non vi ha MAI risposto?

Mi ha fatto anche molto ridere il ' Quanto si volevano bene quei tre' riferito a Will, Tessa e Jem. Beh, dopo tutto quello che si sono fatti HAHAHA e James che lo chiama Zio Jem? a me sarebbe partito il pugno sul naso immediato se fossi stato Jem, oppure voglio la funzione da Dissenatore e gli divoro l'anima così non rompe più.

This book allows you to see how unrational side of what is the Shadowhunters. When a family is shunned from the rest of the clan, they get very drastic and will do anything to get payback or to be welcomed back again. 

I know that the new series that we are going to get in a few months involves the girl with the last name Blackthorn, and we see her lineage in this book. Also, we see a lineage in the Herondale family. 

I love learning more about Magnus’ past though. It explains a lot more of his personality and why he does the things that he does. He is probably the best character that Clare has wrote honestly.

Motivo principale delle 5 stelline? Will, Jem e Tessa *w*. Mi sono mancati tantissimo ed è stato incredibilmente emozionante vederli tutti e tre insieme :').
Inoltre mi sono innamorata di un nuovo Herondale, James voglio sapere di più su di te! *_*
La storia narrata in questa novella è incredibile, sembra un salto nel tempo a Clockwork princess, ritrovare tutti loro è stato bellissimo *-*.
Un pò lo invidio Magnus, sembra che conosca proprio tutti! xD
