I enjoyed aspects of this and the writing was good but I did have issues with the dad as the Scrooge character, by giving him a family who he treated really badly it made him not only more unlikeable but also meant the family members just took the abuse and let him ruin their lives really. I just felt perhaps it could have been toned down a bit, perhaps more of the reasoning behind the Scrooge behaviour would have helped. It was good but won't be one I reread
