The Philosopher's Flight A Novel
Reviews

As much as I liked the ending, I didn't want this book to stop. You can take this story and reflect on it as what is happening today in the world of women (or what has always been happening) if you wanted to go deep, or you can just enjoy the science and magic as it happens.

Quick review: -conflicting feelings on female dominated world with male protagonist and what all that says. (Way more to come in a longer review) -great world building; understood the fantastical components very well -the strange historical aspects I’ll write off to the fact there’s magic so development of history would be different -character development… so so. But plot was enjoyable enough to keep me reading

Really neat reimagining of a world where philosophy (science-y magic) was discovered in the 1800's, allowing certain people to perform acts such as hovering, transporting, etc. Females have a much greater aptitude for philosophy, and the protagonist is a male who is exceptionally gifted, for a male. Gives a really interesting reverse look on what it has been like for women over our history. Also, just a really fun story.
