I just finished this trilogy and I’m really surprised it’s not more talked about amongst Jennifer’s books. For me, it was right up there with the FBAA series. Interesting story with characters you’ll really like from the beginning! lots of unexpected events in the plot and 10/10 romance. I’d recommend to anyone who likes any of Jennifer L Armentrouts other books!!

I didn’t think a book about Caden could be appealing to me, but I was wrong. Being short, with Jen’s style and with two new amazing characters, this book conquered me from the first quote. I loved Bri and Caden relationship, kinda starting as an enemies to lovers, but definitely evolving, and also the appearance of old characters that I loved in the previous books.

This book is fast paced, but it does give you everything you crave for and more.

When I heard about The Prince, I expected to get a sweet, maybe fluffy novella. A lot happened in Wicked, so I thought to get more about how these characters continued on. That is what happened, but als so much more.

We read a bit about Ivy and Ren, but they aren't the main focus in this novella. Brighton has lost a lot in her life and feels a bit helpless because of it. She has decided it's time to take things into her own hands after almost dying one night. I really felt bad for Brighton and could definitely understand her need to find revenge.

Only The Prince keeps showing up at the places she's at and it starts to get annoying. Even though she can't help but notice how attractive he is. There are some twists and turns in thos faerie world and she really has no choice but to work with him.

The Prince is a lot different than expected, but that's something I figured out at the end of Brave. I only have really one complaint about him in this novella and that is I wish we would've goten a couple of chapters from his POV. That would've completed this story a bit more for me. What was he thinking? What made him do the things he did in this novella?

For a novella, The Prince has me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen! And what made me love this story was the amount of Tink we got. He is, and always will be my favorite character in this series. I really hope he eventually gets his own story one day!

If you want a novella that is filled with action, humor and a bit of romance, The Prince is for you. Then again, I really recommend the whole Wicked trilogy!

Going back into the world of Wicked was great, I really enjoyed that we could see more of Brighton in this books, she had a great character development. 
The Prince is a unique character that has gone through a lot. It had a great plot and a slowburn between Brighton and The Prince.

I have so many conflicting feelings when it comes to The Prince and I'm just going to get right to it. There will be spoilers, so if you've not yet read and intend to, you probably want to nope out of my review. 

I'm an unapologetic fan of Jen's books. I'll read pretty much anything she writes, even if it's a genre that doesn't typically interest me. I've not read a lot of PNR, nor do I plan to if I'm being honest, but I was intrigued by this series when it was first announced. So, I wasted no time reading the first book and loving it. I didn't keep up with the series as it released, but I did read all the books. It was a great story with great characters and I loved the little world Jen created in New Orleans. Obviously I was excited to see it was going to continue and I was thrilled to get my hands on The Prince early. 

I jumped into it just as soon as I finished reading Brave (a little late! whoops!) and I really liked Brighton right from the start. She was sassy and more than a little badass. I loved her banter with Tink because, well, I freaking love Tink. He's one of my favorite things about this series as a whole and about this book specifically. I was intrigued by Caden and what was happening with him and Bri. They had chemistry for days, but I feel like it was never fully explored. Which, when you're all about the ship and you read for romance, is a bit disappointing. 

Ok, now the spoilers. I've always been under the impression the 1,001 Dark Nights novels can live as standalones in the world in which they're set. So, I was in no way shape or form expecting a cliffhanger in The Prince. If I'm being totally honest, I was disappointed. Not only by the cliffhanger, but by the way things went down in the end. I know there's a bigger reason for it, but Caden's behavior towards Bri was really off-putting. Then it was just... over. And there's a pretty long wait until the next installment. 

There was a lot to like about this book. Fans of the series will probably be interested in what happens next. I know I was. It just felt like there was something missing from this for me. I think it was the combination of the slow burn that never really gave way to anything, combined with Caden's behavior and the unexpected cliffhanger. Now, it's entirely possible this is a case of "it's not you, it's me," so don't let my frustrations keep you from enjoying it. I am looking forward to see where the story will go in the next installment. I just greedily wish it wasn't so far away!
