A wonderful glimpse into the physicalities of our bodies and capabilities of our brains. It covers a range of various topics that all eventually build up a life, with a few exercises to practice to touch back on our child-selves and to be less frightened by death—but equally use its force to deepen every hour of this life.

Some things feel a bit paradoxical, but that, essentially, is what life, and more eternally, every existence, is and will ever be.

I got this book in hardcover copy. It is beautifully printed on fine quality paper and has many interesting paintings, pictures and graphs. So it was quite a pleasure to hold and read. Mind & Body illustrates various reflections and exercises that help to connect our mental and physical selves. As usual with the School of Life books, it helps me to cultivate a sense of calm.

Melancholy is not fury or bitterness; it is a gentler species of sadness that arises when we are open to the fact that disappointment lies at the heart of human experience.
