4.5 out of 5 stars. The ending was bad but I mean, I knew it was coming. Other than that, this is a great book! I was sooooo sad when she realizes Diego is dead.

I didn’t know that Meyer had created more to the Twilight Saga when I originally read the series so I went and started it all again with the intention of checking out the additions. Although I probably should have read this one right after eclipse since it follows that storyline. 

I thoroughly enjoyed this side story about Bree Tanner and the rest of the newborn vamps. Knowing that her story ends in tragedy made me doubt that I would get anything out of it but she had lots of personality. The perspective of the newborns was interesting. Bree mentions the thirst and the burning urge to feed often so it was surprising to hear her thoughts when confronted with Bella. How she so badly wanted it but tried to gain control as a newborn was impressive. Bree was so observant and could read expressions on faces so well that it made her death feel far more tragic than it came across in Eclipse. 

Bree was so young and had just found herself a friend in Fred, who was also a really neat character in this side story. I would have loved to read more about him if ever there was an opportunity. She had also just discovered she loved Diego and there could have been more on that had he not suffered from the same fate.

This novella wasn’t it. 
I missed a lot of things, like chapters where were they. The whole book is one big chapter it seemed and it’s so confusing because you can’t stop reading at one point. 
The story had not caught my attention. Although I thought Bree was cute and smart but of course not smart enough. I didn’t really care for her backstory. 
We all knew how it ended if you read eclipse. 
There was one thing interesting about it, how someone else besides the cullens and Bella saw the cullens what they looked like to the outsiders that one part was interesting. 
But this book wasn’t it, I didn’t want to give it one star it wasn’t that bad. 2 stars is just a bad book.

Almost love this more than some of the regular Twilight books. The characters were very interesting.

This book is so sad ): it's such a great (sorta) spin off of the Twilight series and Stephanie Meyer was still at her prime when she wrote this. It's a sweet, simple, short story about Bree and her short immortal life as a vampire. Basically, Twilight is the long romantic novel you love and adore while this book is the one with the inevitable, sad ending you don't want to have happen but know is coming ): great read though!! <3

The last 30 pages! It was so hard to read them. The realization about death and betrayal by her leader! I really didn't think too much of Cullens trying to protect her during the eclipse novel but reading through her prospective made me realize how rare it is among vampires to expect such behaviour and how this makes Cullens really THE BEST vampire family to exist! I also love how she shines through with confidence and power during her final moments. I really would like to know her story in an alternate universe where she could live and learn this new way of life with Cullens.

(If you haven't read Eclipse, I don't recommend reading this first.)

this was such a good novella for the twilight series. it’s the story of bree tanner who we met briefly in the eclipse book. i felt for her so much and i loved how stephanie meyer wanted to write this book to give people an idea of what edward, bella and company look like to outsiders.
this novella did make me cry and you got to see the twilight series from a young newborn vampire’s perspective which was a really good insight.

I’ve read the Twilight series too many times to count and funnily enough I never read this one. 
I guess timing is everything. Tbh there’s never been a book that made me cry or even bring me close to tears. This one broke that streak. I knew what was going to happen yet I closed the book still mourning over Bree. I wish she had more to her story. She deserved better🥺😢
Reading this again.

           7-ish years after reading the Twilight saga I finally decided to read this novella thanks to a friend. Obviously going into this story I knew ~ basically~ everyone would die but I still wanted more from this world and these characters. This side of the story was so amazing to read and I honestly think that these 178 pages were better than the original 4 books combined....oops.

I love Bree Tanner as a character. I never actually noticed her in the books until I read this book and I had to go back and re-read all of the Twilight Saga to find her and I was disappointed to find she wasn't a character of any importance.

This one of those stories that you find yourself in love with. You don't even really need to know or like Twighlt it's just a cute romantic story. 
Not a CRAZY fan of twighlt,but this book was just one of those books that I couldn't resist.

Selv om jeg ikke ble helt bergtatt av boka, så synes jeg absolutt at man skal lese den om man er glad i Twilight-serien og jeg likte den veldig godt. Det var interessant å lese fra perspektivet til “nyfødte” Bree og om andre karakterer enn bare Cullen-familien og varulvene. Historien er nok litt i lengste laget for å kunne kalles novelle, -- og jeg savnet kapitler, egentlig -- men det tenker man ikke så mye på, for det går fort å lese boka. Personlig skulle jeg ønske det var mer om Diego, men siden historien er skrevet fra Brees perspektiv, så får vi jo bare lese det hun ser.
 Jeg håper at Stephenie Meyer kan skrive flere slike noveller i andre karakterers POV, for jeg liker virkelig å lese dem (tenker på Jacobs POV i Breaking Dawn).

I just finished this book and already am already forgetting the plot. I don't generally mind the writing of Twilight, this is the first time I think it's actively taken away from the story. Pretty much none of the characters were really engaging or noteworthy, which kind of bogged down any interesting points. That said, it's definitely fine, I got through it in one sitting. I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone, but if you like Twilight and want to, I wouldn't recommend against it either.

So for this one I can't say I love it because of the nostalgia, since I hadn't read this one yet. But it was so good! I loved being able to read a new story in the 'Twilight world'. Also Bree is a nice refreshing character. She is brave and friendly, nothing like Bella at all. It was nice to read some backstory about the fight in Eclipse from some others point of view!

This read very much like a Wattpad book and the only enjoyable character was Freaky Fred. I agree with the rest of the reviews wishing that Freaky Fred had been the star of this book because he was an actually interesting character. I didn't like that this book didn't have chapters or even breaks inbetween sections. It felt very stream of conscious in a way that I just didn't like. While I understand Bree is a fifteen year old girl, I didn't quite understand her constant use of the phrase "BFFs" or her ninja obsession. The love interest was also very hard to care about considering the fact that he only showed up in about ninety pages of the book before he died without leaving much of an impact. You understand that he and Bree are mates, but you don't care enough about either of the characters to find their conclusion particularly heartbreaking. It was interesting to find out some of the background of Eclipse, but overall I would say just Google what happens as this really wasnt worth the time it took to read.
