I definitely like The Wedding Party more than the first two books in the series. I just love enemies to lovers novels

1.5 MEH ⭐️ it started out so well with that elevator meet-cute but everything just boom! went haywire after that. i could not connect at all with both hero and heroine. what with their stilted, charmless conversations and just terribly lacking in any sort of personality, yes, sadly for both of them. i feel like i'm reading a really early, rough draft of a (possibly good) romance novel. there's just not enough flavor to the story even though they had many sex and they eat a lot, like A LOT. literally 80% of the book was about them doing the deeds and eating which was something that should be super endearing and sexy in a romance but i really don't know how guillory managed to write them all so bland. like look at these two excerpts of the sex scenes that left me hanging dry; "He kissed her forehead, her cheeks, her eyelids, and finally her lips. They kissed like that for a while, nothing more, both with their eyes open, looking straight at each other." "She ran her hands up and down his warm chest. He picked up her hands and kissed them. He pinned them above her head, holding on to her wrists with one hand." get it? also to make it worse, lots of them are 'pull the blind-fade away' unimaginative kind of scenes SO i just have to add one more example of how guillory just don't know how to inject some life and color to her character; "Alexa’s tears kept falling, but they were happy ones now. She got up to pour herself more coffee, and maybe make some toast to settle her stomach." the one thing that crushed me so bad was how she handled her woc heroine. i was excited to read a romance from a woc's perspective and i was hoping to read some good romance that encompass woc's experience in dealing with racism, prejudice and expectations in dating and relationship with people from different race but she chose to made Alexa shallow and so underdeveloped. i want to read about her life, her relationship with her sister, her making friends with Drew's dominantly white friends, how she handle their potential casual racism towards her. just so much potential there and that hurts me a lot. well i've made my points fair and square so good riddance.

I like the whole elevator scene. I would read more by her. My beef is that the two main characters are book smart but also so dumb and immature. Too much pining and assuming. I thought they would both be bright enough to hash things out rather than behaving like children.

4.5/5. This book was so cute. Why can’t I get stuck in an elevator with a hot guy? When is it my turn? AND THE ENDING AHHHHH!!!!! I was blushing and giggling. Such a cute book.

4.6/5. jasmine guillory’s books somehow make me so happy but feel so lonely at the same time. i loved this one and especially since they have the characters from the other books in it. i love theo and maddie and i’m not just saying that because it was enemies to lovers but man they are so good together.

Love this book! It was an easy read. Made me forget I was reading a book. It was funny, warm and charming. The narrator POV was different, not my style.

5 Stars! ⭐️ This is my first book that the heroin is a Black Woman, a strong independent smart black woman. I was so used to all the tall thin thick beautiful blonde woman as a heroin that I never tried to push myself to read something different. And, this book really changes that. I really, really love Alexa Monroe. I bought this book few days ago and decided to give it a try what I didn’t know is that I was stepping out of my blonde-brunette-tall-beautiful woman as a heroin zone and I’m glad I owned this copy. I really am. And, I admire the way Alexa is and of course a smart man like Drew who doesn’t mind or care about skin color. That was something I love about this book. This book is more about two person who completely comfortable with each other presence that they didn’t really thought about how the future will going to look like for them. It was romantic and amazingly loved and I definitely going to put this on my fav book! Highly Recommended :)

One of my favorite modern romance books. The woman isn't a ditz and is actually smart and funny and confident. The miscommunication/breakup that happens in every romance feels more realistic than most.

Easy, cheesy romance. I enjoyed most of this book, I just could not fully get behind Drew as a love interest - all of his tantrums in the last half were really annoying.

Is there anything better than waking up early on your morning off and finishing a Jasmine Guillory novel? SIGNS POINT TO NO. seriously what a delight? Possibly my favorite one so far?? Maddy and Theo are so so fun and so so stubborn which is... highly relatable tbh. And also, I LOVE ALEXA AND DREW. and also Nik and Carlos. BUT ESPECIALLY ALEXA.

This book is delightful--clever and thoughtful and funny and deals well with important issues (like interracial dating and white privilege!) and also FAKE DATING. I mean, honestly, was there anything this book didn't have? It even had believable coworkers and friendships and, that's right, TACOS. I've had it on hold for... literally months, but it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT.

It was okay.

All the stars! This book was phenomenal! Jasmine Guillory created a cute and realistic take on the beginnings of a relationship. Everything that Alexa felt, I'm sure plenty of women feel when dating/ getting to know a guy for the first time - the butterflies, the insecurities, the fights - everything! The same goes for Drew - just like Alexa, I fell head over heels in love with him. His inner monologue was hilarious too and mirrored Alexa's almost exactly! This book definitely made me rethink my own relationships and how we always think the other person is better and smoother and more put together than us when in actuality, it's the opposite. They are freaking out just as much as we are. They both felt insecurities and it was honestly quite comforting. I would have read this book a lot quicker if life didn't get in the way. Sigh... But I recommend this to anyone who needs a little bit of love and humor in their life. <3 Also, all the food they mentioned throughout the book - Ahhhh! I wanted to book a flight to San Francisco by the time I finished the book and get my hands on all the freaking delicious food that Alexa and Drew ate!

Just what the doctor ordered! I was just the tiniest bit hesitant to get into this third one because The Proposal was okay. But The Wedding Party was hilarious and super entertaining!

Not backing out. Even though ...” Oh thank God. Sometimes his crazy impulses worked out. He sighed in relief, and his thumbs flew over the keyboard “No ‘even though.’ Don't ‘even though’ me. I will owe big for this you have no idea. There will be a new Alexa Monroe wing in every hospital in the state. See you tonight then?” “I'll be there. Please just text me ahead of time if we become fake engaged in the next few hours, OK? I'Il have to borrow a ring.” “What, you think I wouldn't buy you a fake engagement ring? You obviously don't know Drew Nichols very well.” “Since I didn't know your last name was Nichols..”
