Divorce lawyer, Alec Baxter doesn't want to have anything to do with The Wedding Game, but his estranged brother, Thad and his fiance, Naomi need him to make the third member of their group for the show.  Alex reluctantly agrees and immediately finds himself both attracted to and frustrated with Luna.

The Wedding Game is based on the unique premise of a wedding competition show, but there is so much focus on the relationship of the main characters with their brothers, that the romance is overshadowed.  Neither Alec nor Luna are very likable characters, so it is difficult to care about what happens to them throughout the narrative.  Also, the pacing of the plot adds to a general feeling of boredom while reading the book.  While there are some humorous moments, overall, The Wedding Game is a pretty lackluster novel.

This book was really good and funny, I loved Thad’s moments and how sensitive he was, he was the total opposite of Alec but at the end I loved how they worked out their differences and got closer. Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope so I always enjoyed this type of books. 

I loved the banter between Alec and Luna and how their relationship changed. Alec was a workaholic that didn’t do much to have fun but he wanted to have a better relationship with his brother and his family and that’s when they entered “the wedding game”. I had so much fun reading about their interactions and how Thad reacted to everything. At first Alec didn’t had fun but little by little he started realizing that he really wanted to get closer to his brother and that he had to be more involved in the competition and that’s when his relationship with Luna started to change.

Luna was amazing, she had a great relationship with his brother and his fiancé and I loved how she always supported them and viceversa. She was witty and crafty and totally excited to be in the competition. She and Alec had problems from day one but I loved how after he opened up to her they both couldn’t stay away from each other. They had some great steamy scenes and their chemistry was there from day one, even if they didn’t realize it at first. 

They both were awesome and I loved how Alec really tried to be there for his brother and the new family he was creating. The ending was perfect and they finally figured things out so they could get their HEA.

I'm generally not a fan of reality show based plot lines b/c the shows are all ridiculous which makes the book feel ridiculous (note to self - I really need to stop reading books with this plot line). This one grew on me and I actually liked it, which I chalk up to the characters.

I love romances that center around TV show competitions, but I’ve never read one about a DIY wedding competition! The Wedding Game is a fun, quirky rom-com from Meghan Quinn, featuring a DIY expert and a jaded divorce lawyer who compete to create the ultimate dream wedding for their brothers.

Luna loves her brother Cohen and wants the best for him and his fiancé. So when she see the chance to enter a competition to win a penthouse and dream wedding, she signs them up. With her DIY skills as the owner of a famous Etsy store, she’s sure to win. Alec is a hot-shot lawyer with a strained relationship with his younger brother Thad. Thad used to idolize Alec growing up, since Alec was the only one in their family to take care of him. But now, after leaving Thad to pursue his career and never checking back in, Alec feels guilty and wants a chance to mend their broken relationship. When newly engaged and soon-to-be father Thad asks Alec to join him on The Wedding Game, he can’t say no.

Luna and Alec’s romance is so much fun. It’s a great enemies-to-lovers romance with plenty of banter and bickering, especially while they’re on set and fighting for the number one spot. I enjoyed the slow progression of their romance, and there was some good added drama with trying to keep their new relationship a secret from the TV crew and their brothers. Cohen, Thad, and their respective fiancé(e)s were also really entertaining! They brought so much humor and heart to the story. I didn’t mind at all that they almost stole the spotlight from Luna and Alec’s romance.

The Wedding Game is a great read if you want a light-hearted romance with strong family ties. It’s got a great cast of characters, some silly humor, and a whole TV show competition. Right now I’m really hoping we get a book for Luna and Alec’s best friends!

  When I saw my reflection, I though wow, I really did, finally look like a bride."


This was a very satisfying, nostalgic moment of when I read the gorgeously written Lux series. I can't believe I waited this long to read the damn thing, and IT'S SHORT...6 PAGES SHORT! I guess I was caught up in so many other books that it kept slipping to the farthest back burner known to man kind. 

After all these heavy reads this was exactly what I needed. Now I need to reread The Lux series for he 6th timed (not joking about that...it actually might be the 8-9th reread....)
