This volume did a great job at exploring some of the members of Squad Zero and the lore behind their creation and their histories. This volume also revolves around the climax between Kenpachi and Unohana and explains their backstory and history. This battle and their storyline is easily one of the best storylines in this arc and the entire series itself. I loved the flashback into the past around Ichigo’s parents and Ūryu’s father, it was interesting to see how they all connected to other characters from the Soul Society and the Quincies. Overall, a great instalment that builds up to greater storylines to come.
