Nightwing Vol. 1: Leaping Into the Light
Reviews

yeah, i loved it and read it in one sitting <3

I really want to get more into DC and especially batfam comics and this was such a good introduction into Nightwing. The former Robin is out on its own trying to form his own identity outside of the Batfam. This was such a dynamic comic, Bruno Redondo is insane. I truly love his illustration style. He has such a dynamic and precise way to draw that no action is left unpainted. The fight scenes are drawn in comic wide panels and each panel describes a different action. It also brings such an amusing sense in normal scenes like when they are walking down the stairs and each panel describes an action taken while walking down the stairs. Just very imaginative and creative approach that adds so much the storytelling. Tiny things like overhead shots or the characters going through the panels that breaks the monotony of just simple illustrations. This volume also serves as a very nice tribute of sorts to Alfred, to thank him for his work. As someone once said "The world would be lost without the heroes he raised. Without his generosity, his love, his support." The storytelling was great in on itself, just Dick Grayson settling in a new city and trying to make it better. He initially tries to leave all his family and friends behind but sometimes, family is all you need.

4.5 stars Okay, so this was my first every DC comic and I don't think I could have picked a better one. I love it. I love Dick and Tim and Babs and I am so excited to read more of the comics!
