Each issue covers a different villain: Phasma - I was hoping for a scene from her stand-alone origin novel, but the story included here was… fine. It's good, but it doesn't tell the reader anything new about the character, even if that reader has only seen her in one movie. Hux - This one gives some insight into the character's psyche and ego, with a flashback used to frame the cycle of cruelty that is shown in (predictably, though not in a bad writing way, just in a Gross Dude way) loathsome behaviour on his part. Also enjoyed more of a glimpse into his dynamic with Kylo. Snoke - Not actually a story about Snoke? Snoke takes Kylo to Dagobah and I'm not sure if Kylo actually gets more page time than Snoke (it's likely), but it's definitely Kylo's story. Kylo - This one shows the progression of Kylo Ren from tantrum thrower to actual authority in the eyes of an old Empire veteran. It is good to see him actually succeed in a show of power - not because his actions are in any way admirable, but because it gives a more solid impression of how he was able to get as far as he did, and why officers (not just naive troopers) did follow him into battle.
