I already knew pretty well the premise of the story, since I saw the first episodes from the anime. So in the beginning I wasn't really invested, but as the story progressed I got more and more engrossed in it. The premise is really fascinating and this first volume set the tone in what I hope to be not only an epic battle between Light and L. But also a really interesting discussion about good and evil, who deserves to die and who doesn't.

This manga really keeps getting better and better. You never know how L will react or for that matter how Light will react.

“The name of the human who is written in this note shall die.” Death Note was the first manga I ever picked up and it has definitely made me hungry for more. I loved the competition between L and Light, and then Near and Light, and adored Misa’s character. The art, too, was amazing and I’m rather sad I’ve reached the end, I’ll miss the characters and all the twists and turns of the story. The ending was just perfect and the perfect way to wrap up this amazing story I don't think I can do justice in a review of the masterful story that Tsugumi Ohba crafted, and thus would certainly recommend you check out some of the other AMAZING reviews, and definitely recommend you read this manga if the permise didn't already intrigue you enough to do so!

This series is truly phenomal. One of the best manga and anime out there.

The suspense... this series is stressful!

4.5 Stars

I never thought i would give this rate (because i think it's ridiculous) but i cant make up My mind about it.... So its getting 3,75owls!

2,5owls!

I have no idea how do rate this because it’s only the second graphic novel I’ve ever read, next to 300. I like the story idea with the robinhoodesque vibe, but I have trouble reading graphic novels bc I like to world build in my head. Cool artwork.

** spoiler alert ** Mikami is WAAAYYY to obsessed with Kira, actually, everyone thinking that Kira is a God/ righteous, is stupid Cant wait for Near and Mello to do their magic 🥰

** spoiler alert ** Gosh i love Near so much. i was so glad that he predicted everything. Light was exceptionate too, i was surprised he was able to think that far ahead. Mikami really is something else, changing his mind at the end when Light loses #fakefriend💀 rip to the people that died on the way😭. and finally matsuda des something right for the first time, something that's not stupid😭.

4 1/2 Amazing. The art was amazing. My first time reading manga and actually was pretty good, I've already watched the anime but this history is just brilliant. I'm excited to -hopefully soon- read the next volume.

yeah i get it

red flag: L kinda…

this was good. I'm convinced Light is a Ginger tho.

Better than anticipated but I hope light gets his personality back in the next volume

The plot is so thick

Just a fantastic story that really messes with your sense of right and wrong. If I had to describe it briefly think of Criminal Minds mixed with a little mythology, two brilliant characters and Boom! an intricately woven crime story that has you questioning if you were raised in a decent household. The simple black and white difference between justice and evil is greyed. If you're going to pick this up, make sure to keep the coffee coming-you're not going to sleep until you're finished.

5⭐️ quanto mi mancavano elle e light non si spiega

What a fantastic story. I love the rivalry between the mass murderer Kira and the great detective L. They're both really smart and interesting in their own ways, so you actually want to root for both of them to win. And it's the best kind of fight, because a lot of it is psychological. The only disappointing part of the series is that the latter half is nowhere near as good as the first half.
