very personal. i admit i was afraid to read this. but as Faber so courageously pour his heart out in honor of his wife i did braved through. also i read before that the book of strange new things was his last book so i was pleasantly surprised to know he wrote this one and it was such a gift. 

i have deep affinity with all things grief. give me any books about grief i'll devour it. i guess this is the way for me to try to cope, try to make sense of what i feel. it is fascinating and comforting to read about grief in all its form.
i am still dealing with the loss of my father. he was gone seven years ago, and the lines in They Say really struck me hard. grief is something that will never leave you. yes some of the days it fades away and you thought well i think it's done, now i can say i finally moved on but some other days, little things little reminders brought it back. you remember and it all become new again. that's the cycle and to march with it to your own end is the only way. 
how Faber interspersed memories, little personal things, histories, and emotions were beautiful. it was an intimate, honest account of a person grieving and living the aftermath. 

personal favorites: right there on the floor, lucencies, the time you chose, f.w. paine ltd, you loved to dance, they say, the 13th and anniversary.
