Reviews

Thank you SOURCEBOOKS Fire for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! Okay let me actually tell you what this book is about. This is a REAL PROBLEM BOOK. Meaning that there is someone(people) in this book who actually have some type of mental problem. So there's this couple, Andrew and Vic(toria). They have been dating for a long time. Andrew has an overbearing mother, but Victoria and Andrew make it work. Victoria has been going to a private Catholic for a year before the book started if I remember correctly, and is literally no one. She doesn't have friends there, she doesn't do anything extracurricular activities and doesn't go to any school functions. All she cares about is going back home and seeing Andrew. Until Z shows up. Zachary Zimmerman is a people pleaser. He loves to know everything about everyone and never really talks about himself. But he becomes the gem in Victoria's eye when he gives her all his attention. So what will become of Victoria? Will she stay loyal to Andrew and tell Z that she is off limits? Well what would make a good story with that? I can tell you that the book starts off a little ridiculous. Victoria is very love-struck by Z and she basically becomes a slave to him in her thoughts. Everything always leads back to him with her. It was dramatic and I wasn't sure I would be able to get through it. But I did because I knew other people should know what they are getting into (you're welcome). BUT THAT ENDING THOUGH. I honest-to-God-above did NOT SEE THAT COMING. I knew something was fishy and something was going down but I honestly didn't see that build. I don't know if I am just utterly stupid (which is plausible) and should have saw it coming or if it really did just sneak up as well as it did... but I can say it is the reason it has the stars it does. The writing was not for me. It was a little too young for me. I probably won't read this author again and I won't pick up this book unless I want to read that ending again.
