Meine Meinung: Unrivaled: Gewinnen ist alles ist der Auftakt zu ihrer neuen Reihe rund um drei Jugendliche und das wilde Partyleben in L.A. Der erste Band der Soul Seeker Reihe liegt noch ungelesen bei mir zu Hause. Die Evermore Reihe habe ich allerdings mit dem zweiten Band abgebrochen, weil mich Alyson Noel mit dieser einfach nicht fesseln konnte. Umso gespannter war ich auf Unrivaled da das, was sich hinter der Reihe verbirgt sehr ansprechend auf mich gewirkt hat. 
Der Einstieg ins Buch viel mir erst einmal sehr schwer. Ich habe mich glaube ich hauptsächlich mit dem Schreibstil der Autorin schwer getan. Außerdem gibt es in dem Buch erst einmal vier Erzähler, später werden es fünf und so ist es gerade am Anfang schwer zu wissen, wer jetzt wer ist und den Überblick zu bekommen. Das ging dann tatsächlich aber schneller als gedacht und auch mit Alyson Noels Schreibstil konnte ich mich schnell anfreunden und so hatte ich ab Seite 60 sehr viel Spaß am Lesen. Ich kann euch daher wirklich nur empfehlen bis dahin durchzuhalten, wenn es euch genauso geht, wie mir. 
Das Buch selbst ist vom Thema her eine Mischung aus High Society Roman und Coming Of Age Geschichte. Gerade am Ende bekommt es auch einige Thriller Aspekte mit rein und das war für mich eine sehr interessante Mischung. Man versinkt völlig in das Buch und in diese andere Welt und es ist so leicht geschrieben, das man im ersten Augenblick meinen könnte, dass es eine ebenso leichte Lektüre ist. Die ist es aber meiner Meinung nach nur bedingt. Es werden meiner Meinung nach ganz viele wichtige Themen vermittelt, die gerade, wenn man Erwachsen wird, von Bedeutung sind. Auch die Schattenseiten und die Skrupellosigkeit der Clubszene werden in Unrivaled mehr als deutlich und können vom Leser hinterfragt werden. Durch diese ganzen Punkte baut sich eine enorme Spannung auf, die sich zum Ende hin sehr zuspitzt. Ich konnte ab einem bestimmten Punkt nicht mehr aufhören zu lesen und habe tatsächlich die letzten 350 Seiten schneller gelesen, als die ersten 60.
Die drei Protagonisten und auch Madison Brooks, die ich nicht so ganz als Protagonistin sehen kann, waren mir nicht sympathisch und ich konnte keine Nähe zu ihnen aufbauen. Diese Meinung schwankte zwar mal in der Mitte des Buches, trotzdem blieben sie mir verhasst. Das ist aber genau gut so, denn ich denke dieses Buch lebt davon, dass der Leser die Charaktere mit Distanz und ein wenig Abneigung beobachtet. Diese schmale Gradwanderung zwischen Verachtung und Mitleid hat Alyson Noel meiner Meinung nach sehr gut hin bekommen und ich frage mich schon, wie sie sich im zweiten Teil der Reihe wandeln und verändern werden. An dieser Stelle muss ich einfach noch einmal kurz auf das Ende eingehen. Passt gut auf, denn das endet mitten in der Handlung und man fragt sich erst einmal verwundert, ob Seiten fehlen. Deshalb bin ich sehr erleichtert, dass das Buch bei goodreads schon als Reihe gekennzeichnet ist und hoffe, dass es bald weitergeht. 
Bewertung: Unrivaled und ich hatten einen schwierigen Start aber danach hat es mir sehr gut gefallen. Zum einen ist es eine leichte Story die uns in die High Society- und Clubwelt von L.A. entführt. Aber neben dieser leichten Unterhaltung vermittelt das Buch auch viele Coming of Age Themen und einen kritischen Blick hinter die Partyszene. Ein sehr gelungener Reihenauftakt. Ich warte schon auf Band 2.

Enjoyable read, but the ending was awful.

I did love this book it was gone girl meets the A LIST series. I loved all the main characters and also the setting the book was in. I also loved the mystery that developed throughout this novel. It was a fast pace read that is so interring story wise and character wise.

At the beginning I wasn't sure if this book would be something for me but I really liked it. Every character was so different, which made it very interesting. I liked that there was this big mystery how Madison disappeared.

A fun, easy and quick read.
To be honest, the majority of this book was relatively uneventful. The first 60% or so was mostly introducing the characters and the 'Unrivaled' Nightlife competition. Although not a lot happened, it wasn't tedious, since it read so easily. I will say it felt a little as though the book had been cut in half. It seemed to finish just as it was about to get exciting/interesting. It was a good set up for the series to come and did leave me wanting more. I'm sure I will pick up the next book in the series when it's released, even if that's simply because I feel like a fun and easy read.
