3.75 stars. oof talk about problematic books! if i have to be honest, i've always kinda steered clear of books that feature student/teacher relationships. i don't know why because it's not like i haven't read shit that's more fucked up than that, but it's always been a trope i've disliked. this was recommended to me and i picked it up thinking why not? and i guess i just found an exception to my dislike of this trope because i was able to actually enjoy it. veiled innocence follows the forbidden story of addison and grayson, a senior student and her history teacher. i think the author did a wonderful job at portraying both sides of a relationship like this and the consequences it can have on its participants. it was good and emotional and it made me feel for these characters.
