Let me just tell you, the story is nothing like how Disney made it out to be. But then that shouldn't be a surprise. The story captures the true essence of beauty, and that is from within. A young man labelled as a monster and a society that refuses to understand him for who he is, and a gypsy who he adored, that unfortunately, didn't even recognize him as a friend. The ending leaves you in ruins. Victor Hugo once again highlights all the wrongs and injustice society shapes.
