"Well, shall we go? Yes, let's go. They do not move" *** The quote basically sums up the play. Two men stuck in limbo, waiting for god(ot). Slowly losing their sanity as the seconds, minutes, and hours go by. Yet does Godot ever arrive, though?

Estragon: I can't go on like this Vladimir: That's what you think Regardless of the purposelessness of life on this burning planet, perseverance is found everywhere. So too is it found within. Misery and suffering will persist. So will we. The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life? Answer. That you are here—that life exists and identity, That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse. (WW, 1892)

After the last four years, I felt that reading a Theatre of the Absurd play made sense.

cldn't figure out the point of this play until i went to read up about it and realised the point was that there was no point. introducing: the theatre of the absurd. likely a lot of interesting things to read between the lines but im slightly (read: very) exhausted to do so; nonetheless, lots of well crafted literary elements (especially the staccato-rhythm dialogue frequently present between vladimir and estragon; the strange crisp kind of stage directions that id love to see enacted, and cyclic symbols) and points of interpretation. it's bizarre, yet concise, so somehow... it works. "Vladimir: This is becoming really insignificant. [...] Estragon: We always find something, eh Didi, to give us the impression we exist? Vladimir: Yes yes, we're magicians" surprising points of understated humour (that as the best kind of humour does, reveal something): Estragon: Ah! (Pause. Despairing.) What'll we do, what'll we do! Vladimir: There's nothing we can do. Estragon: But I can't go on like this. Vladimir: Would you like a radish? indeed. as estragon says, "We are all born mad. Some remain so." i felt a little mad (crazy, not angry) reading this.

I really enjoyed this book even tho it was really short. I usually dont read plays but this one was quite interesting.

At the start, in prologue, it say that Godot is someone or something the two guys are waiting for. Godot can be God, theyre waiting for someone who we do not know is even real. After that they talk about Jesus and his, i do not how to call them, knights. What may relate to them and Godot. Also theres this tree at the start of first part and second, describing how in the second part the tree is blomming, beautiful, it has leaves etc. That, I assume, he means about the tree of life in bible and Estragon and Vladimir have hope to see Godot in second part, that's why the tree blossoms. I find it funny how they dont move after saying for example "im going to go now" or "im leaving" which can be theatre of the absurd.

All in all, I really like this play. I would love to one day go to theatre and watch it. Also, I think Estragon and Vladimir are lovers

(not a tearjerker) i'm fucking bawling. i think i would have killed myself if this was any longer. i cannot even joke about how gay this was. i think i need to abstain from everything existential-adjacent for a couple years.

This book was quite possibly one of the most boring books I’ve ever read. And I loved it. Concept of nothing happening is super cool. Never read anything like this before. However probably wouldn’t read again.

Weirdly postmodern in line with my expectations and thus pleased with its aimlessness on the surface that nonetheless tugged at something more. Some sections were beautifully moving in its simplicity.

VLADIMIR: You should have been a poet. ESTRAGON: I was. (Gesture towards his rags.) Isn't that obvious?

A fascinating allegory about searching for meaning, waiting for something or someone to come along and give it to you. This one definitely requires some of those college level analytical skills that were planted in me but I really enjoyed the sort of calming chaos of this play and the way it reflects real life.

1 star Reading this book for a class, I understand the importance it has on the literature world. It provides insight into religion and the daily life of humans. And I'm sure discussing this book in a class setting will be interesting but overall as a reader this was just not for me. I'm already not a fan of plays, and this one just lost my interest from page one. I'm sure seeing it performed would give me a different perspective, but reading it was unenjoyable.

I don't like reviewing classics, and this time will not be an exception, but I just have to add that I truly can't see why this is considered a classic. Mostly pointless to the level of extremes and not particularly entertaining. The message was kinda thrown in your face and I feel as if it would have worked better as a short story or some other format. I can't see anyone being able to enjoy it as a production.

Kaip mes visi laukiame Dievo, atsakymo ir prasmės, taip jie laukia Godot. O tame laukime - nieko. Kaip ir gyvenime. Nihilizmo viršūnė, gal todėl man taip ir patiko.
