I've lately found myself wanting to read more romance, the problem is that most romance either has too much sex scenes which totally ruin the romance for me or they are way too chick lit-y and very fluffy, but not enough action and I feel like people have still not found and in between. Or so I thought until I read this book.
I honestly had no expectations because for the cover and book title alone I expected something very smutty. It was not.
This was the perfect balance of romantic and hilarious and smuttiness and did I mention how funny it was?
It reminded me of Meg Cabot's books except the character was more grown up and not as childish. 
If you are a romance reader and love funny books, this is for you!

Despite the unappealing cover, this book appealed to me in many ways. It was humorous. It was sexy. It was engaging and a very enjoyable read. It wasn't like all of the adult novels these days that revolved around tragedy more than the actual relationship which ruins the mood for me, I guess. I had no problem with the way it was written, the plot, the banter. I found it so clever, some of the conversations in this book. I just appreciated this novel so much.

Such a good book and so fun to read as a Bay Area native. I have some feelings on the last two pages being from the perspective of Clive the cat, but otherwise, loved it.

I’ve seen this book everywhere, I heard it talked about by many book friends, so naturally I had to see what all the hype was about. (This book being 40% when I bought it had NOTHING to do with my decision of course ;) )

Everyone I talked to said this book was AMAZINGLY FUNNY, so I had to take their word for it. Naturally, I was really excited to start this book and I was definitely NOT disappointed!

There’s something funny about the apartment next door. Something not quite right. There’s a thumping on the walls going on in the next room, and thanks to paper thin walls, Caroline can hear everything; the screams, the moans, the giggling, the purring, and even the spanking. No thanks to notorious exes, Caroline has been out of the dating scene for a while, and fantasizing about what her neighbour can do to her isn’t helping her situation. No one wants to be part of any man’s sexual parade of women, or what Caroline calls, Wallbanger’s harem.

When Caroline finally meets her wallbanging neighbour in a more intimate setting, things start to heat up between the two. There’s an unmistakable attraction between them, but even if Caroline is determined to remain friends, she’s not sure how much longer she can resist the charms of Simon ‘Wallbanger’ Parker.

I like the DOWN TO EARTH simple girl that is Caroline Reynolds. She just makes me really happy for some reason. Good life, good job, good friends, her own apartment, and she doesn’t need a man to be happy. She has the makings of a very respectable and professional person, I really admire her. But no offence to all her greatness, I think she meets her match when she moves into her new apartment and gets acquainted with Mr. Wallbanger who lives next door. Just goes to show, it doesn’t matter how sucessful, how beautiful, how amazing and talented you are, when you meet with a certain breed of good-looking, even obnoxious men, you’re going to go weak at the knees.

 He was stunning. Of course he was stunning. And why did there have to be scruff?
 I inadvertently gasped as my gaze dropped lower than I had intended. But my eyes were drawn, as if by a magnet, lower and lower. Beneath the sheet – which was already lower on his hips than should be legal -
 He.
 Was.
 Still.
 Hard.

Out of the cast of the beautifully colourful characters – Caroline, Simon, Jillian, Benjamin, Mimi, Sophia, Neil and Ryan, my favourite would probably have to be Clive, the cat. He’s just purrfectly wonderful wink wink nudge nudge. The way he goes after ‘Purina’ is adorable, the way he’s protective of Caroline and totally and utterly demanding! Just like a real cat. I wish I could have a pet as wonderful as him. I think he’s definitely one of the reasons the book is so funny. He adds a little bit of hilarities to the book. Especially the last little bit…

Moving on with characters, Simon Wallbanger has definitely made my list of book boyfriends, and yes, I do enjoy calling him Simon Wallbanger, it has a nice ring to it don’t you think? I mean how is he not one of the most perfect, attractive, fictional boyfriend’s you’ve ever met? He’s traveled, well-rounded, has manners, good career, good friends, I mean the wallbanging thing is an issue but when he found ‘the one’ he was true to her in the end, and those are qualities I can’t hep but respect.

I have to admit that at first I didn’t think this book was all that funny. I guess I was expecting it to be funny right off the bat but it needed time to set up the story. The book was fine, up until the minute Simon and Caroline ACTUALLY meet, and not in the hallway for a few seconds, I mean in an intimate setting meet, I COULDN’T STOP SMILING!!! They have this amazingly hilarious chemistry between them, and not to mention WONDERFUL BANTER, which I have missed and love ever so much! It’s just so full of…HATE and SEXUAL TENSION that you just can’t help but laugh at. Simon keeps her up at night by having sex next door, and she keeps him from his overnight guests by banging on his door. It’s actually REALLY HILARIOUS!

 The first thing I saw was blue. Blue sweater, blue eyes, Blue. Beautifully blue. Then I saw red as I recognized who belonged to the blue.
 “Fucking Wallbanger,” I hissed, frozen on the spot.
 His grin slid off as well as he played place-the-face for a moment.
 “Fucking Pink Nightie Girl,” he finally concluded. He grimaced.

Like every good romance, it takes time to develop the relationship. And when I say it takes time, I mean almost the whole book. Wallbanger is one of those books where you’re just sitting there, screaming “HURRY UP AND HAVE SEX ALREADY!!!!” It was really nice and refreshing to read a book that’s so funny and happy after a streak of serious romances.

I’m so excited to hear that Wallbanger has turned into a series called The Cocktail series! i can’t wait until we get the next two books Rusty Nailed and Screwdrivered. But until then I definitely recommend this book as one of the FUNNIEST and BEST READS of 2013.

And it continues and Caroline learns the nocturnal habits of her neighbor. She learns that he has a "harem" of women, and for the fun of it she nicknames them since she can't get any sleep. Simon, lost his parents when he was just a teenager and at first his world came crashing down. But then he developed strong friendships and found a talent he was good at and one that he loved. He travels the world being a professional photographer only stayed at home for short periods of time. He knows that no woman would tolerate him being gone so often. So he doesn't feel bad sharing his bed with friends who share "benefits" and he didn't think anything of it until a passionate woman comes banging on his door. Simon is a hero that was quite fun and entertaining. He is quite the hound dog though, he likes his variety and has a great sense of humor. He doesn't take things too seriously, and can be very spontaneous and loves his bread.

I really gravitated toward his personality, I loved how loyal and playful he is.

Caroline is more serious minded, and very goal and career oriented. She is working her ways toward building a career in interior design and is really good at what she does. She struggles with finding the O (Orgasm) and her past relationship have not had good endings. Caroline doesn't know what to make of her banging neighbor who is enthusiastic enough in the bed to knock off her framed pictures off the wall. She lives vicariously through his sex life. She feels like a peeping tom because quite frankly she doesn't have a sex life so why not. Caroline is a character that is funny with a dry sense of humor but isn't afraid of going after what she wants. I think what I really liked the most about her is how well you could relate with her in various ways. She seems realistic and you could definitely see yourself being her friend any day of the week.

Now I have heard of this book for quite a long time, and honestly the name of the book I think is what drew me away from it for so long. I don't know why, but I avoided it but the past year especially I have heard so many wonderful things about this author, and I just knew that I HAD to try her out and I am so glad that this title was available through my local library. I read this in one sitting....it was so dang good and freakin' hilarious. I had a ball of fun and laughter with this book. I don't think I have laughed so much in a very long time in reading a book. My goodness, I got hooked pretty quickly on Clayton engaging writing that pulls you write in. The first sentence just drew me in and I was hooked and couldn't put it down. It definitely was not what I expected and I had a fun time seeing these two turn from not liking each other, to becoming friends and falling in love. Clayton handles their dynamics very well and even though the last part of the book was a bit too much sex than I would like, the rest of the book makes up for it. The romance that develops between them is so endearing. I really enjoyed seeing how comfortable they become with each other as friends and how that relationship turns into something more grounding for both of them. It isn't the most "realistic" of romances I have read, but its one of those books you can jump into and escape reality and seeing two people who seem to have everything together and see a sweet and playful relationship develop. It was the perfect distraction that I needed. I am eager to see how this couple grows in future books of the series.

I loved this more than I thought I would since I read it when it was a fanfiction. But something about it drew me in more. The characters felt fresh and funny and what you like in your rom-com 20 something year olds. At times the story felt a little repetitive and stagnant but ultimately it came together nicely.

This book has been on my reading list for a really long time. I was intrigued by it but I only now picked it up. 
This book is really good. The plot is interesting and a little bit different to the thousand other romance books. It’s humorous and made me laugh so many times. 
The characters are interesting on their own and super ingesting together. I like both Simon and Caroline a lot and to me they are perfect together. I do like the fact that they become friends first and really get to know each other. It’s so refreshing compared to a lot of other romance books.

Seriously, this book is a great start to what I know would be an amazing series.

Okay, So there aren't lots and lots of characters in this book that you would have to keep track of, that's a good thing. 

Caroline Reynolds is a designer at Jillian Designs and lives in an apartment in the city area of San Francisco (My favourite city BTW), and guess what? She listens to a certain Wallbanger next door having the time of his life. Simon Parker is a freelance photographer, a kind person, and an insane wallbanger. Seriously, who shakes the whole bed by.. oh, you know. They meet under unconventional circumstances, become friends under unconventional circumstances and become more without even knowing it.

Alice Clayton really did it this time, never ever have I liked the characters of a book this much. The characters? They're easy to like, Mimi, Sophia (Favourite), Jillian (Best Boss ever!) and even the so-called Harem! Yeah, I'm talking about Spanx, Purina and The Giggler (pretty good names for superheroines!)

There were LOTS of laugh-out-loud moments in this book. There were lines which I re-read again and again and laughed-out-loud every flipping time (I won't EVER forget Cory Weinstein's A.K.A. The Machine-Gun Fucker's A.K.A. The Pizza Parlour guy's description! I laughed until there were tears in my eyes!) 

It's a well written book with everything perfectly balanced, especially in the first book. There is sex, a good amount of it, and it goes into detail a little bit, but is it annoying or boring or monotonous? Hell NO. We get to see every character from time to time and get to learn a little bit about them every time.
And since we're talking about the perfect balance, I might as well mention the baking (The Baking!), The references that we all know and love, the characters' good taste in music, and the weekend breakfast meetings with the girls (Breakfast with the girls!), and they order REAL FOOD! Real food that you can eat. Seriously, if a book has a female character (three in this case) ordering real food, eating whatever the hell they want without giving two-flips about it? Read it!
Who is that you're asking about? Clive? 
Oh, Don't get me started on him. Man, I liked that cat. I'm a dog guy, always have been, but after reading this? I'm think about getting a cat? No kidding!

The Epilogue? One word. Unexpectedly Amazing. Ok, that's two words, but would you complain? Here I was, imagining a few months' leap or more, in Simon's POV and what do I get? A smart-as-fuck cat ending the book. Did I like it? Hell Yes! 
Oh, those who haven't read the book might be wondering, why the hell is this guy going on an on about the cat in the book? He's no ordinary cat, I tell you this, pick up this book, read it and tell me that the cat isn't a smart alien sent to Earth to observe humans. You can't! Because he totally is!

I won't lie, when I picked this book up, I wanted to put it down after first few chapters, but I gave it a chance and boy I wasn't dissapointed. By the time I finished the first book, I already had the whole series and was looking forward to the second book.

 Go for it without a second thought, even if you don't love the book (there is a fat chance of that happening), it is a good read. The story and the characters will keep you rooted and in case you don't want to go forward with the series (I recommend against that), you'll like the first book. There is no cliffhanger, so you won't regret it.

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. The book looks like it's just going to be a sex fest but as they say don't judge a book by it's cover. Did I mention that this book is pure hilarity? It totally is. I burned the midnight oil several nights because I just could not put it down. This is a book that makes you want your own Simon aka The Wallbanger of your very own. Caroline and Simon's back forth is down right sexy and their friends are irresistible. I actually loved the fact they mentioned Nerja, Spain as I have actually visited it!!! I was geeking over it because well ... I'm a geek. 

I think the only thing I might have been disappointed is in the ending ... I guess I just did not want their story to end. Now off to find more books by Alice Clayton. 

In short. Not really erotica more chick lit with some heat and lot of laughs. You'll be trying to remember the comebacks so you can use them for yourself. This is a keeper. Oh, and the cat is a scene stealer!

this was a lot more fun than i thought it would be, the premise made me think the love interest was going to be insufferable lmao. i liked both the main characters a lot though, the only thing i didn't love was the trip (or whatever), it just felt a little off-beat from the rest of the tempo of the book. but yeah i read this in like a day, i loved their chemistry and it was just fun.

Finished this a total of about 5 seconds ago, so here's my quick, to the point opinion, while it's still fresh in my mind:
It's a good read; it's funny and witty and sweet at times - the ideal light reading material. I finished it in a matter of hours and hardly put it down from the second i started it.
The characters were likeable, Simon was just downright swoonworthy at times. And the main character, Caroline, was relatable and her thought process kept me interested and amused throughout the entire book.
A solid 4 stars.

I had this book on my radar for quite some time and I finally read it. I got this for one of my challenges and I was like yeah let read this. Actually, I listen to audiobook and I love it. Recommended to have headphones or be in somewhere alone because this is an adult, erotic novel. This book was funny. I was listening while I was cleaning and I was smiling so much that my mom was "Why are you smiling?". I love how Simon is all about his relationship with his partners and how he respects them all. He would get protective when Caroline was talking about his harem. Don't worry all of them know about each other. They didn't get along at begging because she couldn't sleep because of his wall-banging but they become friends. They need it after all their friend started dating each other. Friends relationships are funny you need to read to find out how all of it became. Caroline and Simon started to be good friends like to good friends but again Simon had his 'harem' and Caroline didn't want to be part of it and her problem with her bit O. (try to guess) When you get to end you will be happy for them. FYI there is a trip to Spain.
