I got nightmares from this as a kid, the good old times fr

I really like illustrating style and rhymes. It was very nice to read :')

MY FAVORITE POETRY BOOK! grew up with it as a kid and read it almost every night. it always managed to keep me entertained, along with multiple other Shel Silverstein books. always admired his imagination.

Poetry. Gotta love it.

The rhymes are really beautiful and musical. I enjoyed reading it, but some poems I could not understand unfortunately. It’s a big weird mix between dark comedy and sadness.

I loved these when I was a kid, and they're still classics.

3,5 I liked it, was fun. Someone said to read them out loud, I second that.

And all the colors I am inside Have not been invented yet.

Hilarious! I’ve never read poems that were funny so this was new to me! I love how some poems were so simple and others were almost like a short story. There were some insightful poems that I connected to. The one that left me thinking most, was the last poem “The Search”. I’m always in such a hurry to get the thing I’m looking and working for that when I get it, I’m left with “so what do I strive for now?” I don’t enjoy the time spent working towards something; only acquiring it. Being in the mindset of “getting, getting, getting” sometimes leaves me feeling empty. In conclusion, I love this book.

I love reading all the funny and uplifting poetry

This was a cute collection of poems that was fun to read.

Blog | Twitter | Instagram Once upon a time, this was one of the first books I have a deep memory of. All those years ago, as a child, my parents would read to me the pages of various books. Where the Sidewalk Ends is one of the first ones I truly--and completely--remember reading. In the days where I was still trying to learn how to read, this is one of the many books I would attempt and there's always going to be a sort of fondness in my heart for this one. Who doesn't love a good throwback? A few months ago, my friend had me watch her daughter and I read to her the words of Shel Silverstein. Not only did she love it, I had a massive hit of nostalgia and am pleased to know that something still stirs in my chest when it comes to this. Just as beautiful and fun as it was when we were children, Where the Sidewalk Ends has rightfully earned its place as a classic and continues to shape the way habits of young readers everywhere. The very definition of timeless. I instantly felt like a little girl again while rereading this.
