I read the prologue and first chapter in Arcanum Unbounded in both novel and graphic novel formats. I definitely preferred the novel format just because I got more detail and more of Brandon Sanderson's writing 😂
The world is so interesting, the dayside being my idea of literal Hell - too hot and SAND everywhere 😭 though, it did remind me of the endless sun in Nevernight!
The magic is interesting, as are the characters and I definitely am interested in carrying on with the novel, and if I can't get the novel then I'll be looking into getting the graphic novel.

White Sand showcases my favorite thing about Brandon Sanderson's writing, his great worldbuilding ability, the way he creates immersive worlds and yet, having it in illustrated form hinders his ability to describe the world as he is used to, and that makes the reader connect less with the world and characters.
I'm still really interested in seeing how the story will be resolved, but I'm I wouldn't be opposed to someday having a book based on this same world.
Overall, I enjoy this comic , but it is not up to the usual Sanderson standard.

You would think adapting a Brandon Sanderson novel into a comic would be a terrible idea with his world-building habits, but White Sand actually works. And it's not only a good adaptation, but an amazing comic with great art and a awesome storyline.
It is a very action-packed story that in a few pages manages to convey everything in a tightly packed story while also never losing the spark of a Sanderson story. 
The art was beautiful and it helped shaped the story and the world-building. I loved how instead of talking about the vastness of The Kerla we just got beautiful pages devoted to the sand desert.
I loved also the way the sand magic was drawn, it really caught my eye and it brought more life to the magic. 
And the story, is amazing. I loved the magic system and the characters. I thought Kenton was a great character, and it's amazing to see how much he grew in so few pages. I also loved the Duchess and her companions, all of them had different personalities and it all stood up really well. 
Despite the shortness of this first volume, it managed to tell so many things through the pictures. I was very pleasantly surprised. This first volume managed not only to explain the world and start the conflict, but also left me intrigued and enchanted enough to want to know more.
 Major props to Rik Hoskin for the awesome adaptation and to Gopez for the art. This comic had me on a rollercoaster ride just like any other Sanderson novel.

This is such a cool book, but i can't help it to fell that white sand shouldn't be a trilogy and one big novella/hq, it's clearly that this end isn't a proper end for like " a book one of a trilogy" , anyway it's a very cool magic system and world building, i fell the "Brandon writing" and the connections with the Cosmere its dope!!

i know fs i should've understood so much more than i did but i only have two brain cells. 
don't know why the change on the strokes of the illustration, there's got to be a reason, cause it was kinda abrupt. what did i miss?

i like the pace tho, and the characters very well contructed. i like the depth of khriss, : idk the way she talks about science is different.

(Using this as a placeholder for the entire series) Cool Sanderson worldbuilding and concepts, but overall a pretty weirdly paced storyline and an unsatisfying finish. With the lack of internal narrative and slow, character moments that I typically enjoy from Sanderson, I never really felt a connection to any of the main players (Khriss had moments, but again nothing felt really deep). I liked the visual portrayal of the sandmagery, but there were never any visual moments that particularly shook me, and I also found myself missing Sanderson's masterful descriptions of magical mechanics and systems.
