Wilder

I'm Paxton Wilder. Motocross phenom & adrenaline junkie. I have more tattoos than scars. And I've never seen a stunt I couldn't pull off-- Or a girl I can't get off. Until she walks in. My new tutor is sexy, smart, more stubborn than I am, and one hundred percent off limits. That's right--the only rule this semester is Don't Touch the Tutor. For the first time in my life, I want someone I can't have. She's the girl who obeys every rule. I'm the guy who breaks them. Our biggest risk is falling for each other, but I live for risk... Each book in The Renegades series is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order. Series Order: Book #1 Wilder Book #2 Nova Book #3 Rebel

All I can say is that this story is wild, so far-fetched, completely unbelievable, but also super fun to read.

I’d recommend the book if you’re into:

-a hero who has it all - a super hot young daredevil who's rich AF (his dad bought him a freaking cruise ship so he could do his extreme sports all over the world while studying).

-A typically damaged, sometimes annoying, but still a kickass heroine.

-Some suspense with tons of actions.

“You are everything and don’t even see it. You’re smart, and strong, and so beautiful that you make me ache when I look at you.” Rebecca has a way with words that continuously leave me wrecked. 😩🥰

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. I'm going to be totally honest with you, I'm not even sure I looked at the blurb for this book before I decided I HAD HAD HAD TO read it. I mean, it's a Rebecca Yarros book and I've loved everything of hers that I've ever read. After reading this one, I have to say I don't see that changing anytime soon either. Whether they're military men and the women who love them or adrenaline junkies and their ladies, she knocks it out of the park every single time. I could say I had no expectations going into this book, but that would be a lie... even though I wasn't 100% sure what it was about when I started it. I expected an amazing story with characters I could fall in love with, laugh with and cry with. I got exactly that. I was a little worried about Wilder in the beginning, because I wasn't sure he was the type of guy I could get behind, but it didn't take long before I was eating those words. He was amazing. I mean, he was flawed. He had a past. But, thankfully that all changed when Leah came into his life. (Or shortly thereafter anyhow.) I love a guy that goes all in and that's exactly what he did. Truth be told, he won my heart with one line – "You couldn't tease me because I have no expectations. i'm not a little boy, Leah. I can more than control myself, and if all we do is kiss, then that's more than I could ask for. Do you understand?" — and I decided he was a keeper. I won't get onto my soapbox on this, but forget all those "you have to tell me now if you want to stop or I won't be able to" guys. Wilder is the real deal. I loved Leah. My heart broke for her and the things she was dealing with from her own past. I applauded her for basically even leaving the house, to be honest. But putting herself in the situation she was in — even if she didn't have all the facts when she went in — made me respect her even more. What she went through could've absolutely shattered even the strongest person. I could understand why she would be cautious of Wilder, even as amazing as he was, but I'm glad she gave him a chance. They were incredible together. They shared passion, adventures (good and bad!) and some very real feelings. It was easy to root for them... even in the moments where everything went sideways and I wasn't sure what would happen. I can't recommend this book highly enough to anyone who enjoys NA romance. Or, you know, pretty much any romance. It definitely punched me right in the feels a couple of times, but I welcomed every emotion. I was all in with these characters and expect I'll feel the same about the coming books in this series. Which, you know, can't get here soon enough. I'm such a greedy reader. :) I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. FAVORITE QUOTES I didn't believe in love at first sight. I wasn't that stupid. But science? Chemistry? Pheromones? Yeah, lust at first encounter. I believed that all day long. Maybe my heart wasn't pristine. Maybe it was stitched together. Maybe the seams were even a little frayed over the parts that refused to knit—the parts I had a feeling never would—but it was whole again. I was living. "Then live. Kiss the guy. Or kiss a different guy if you want. Go on a trip. Sleep in, or get up early and watch the sun rise. Stop thinking about what you should be doing and for once in your damned life do what you want to do." "I can feel every curve under my hands, which makes me pretty damn desperate to slide this up your legs and really get my hands on your. But I won't. You know why?" I shook my head. "Because you haven't said yes—yet—and I'm a goddamned gentleman." Kissing him was addictive—the world around us faded into nothingness, and all that existed was Paxton and the way he made me feel. "Leah, that sound will get you fucked." "You couldn't tease me because I have no expectations. i'm not a little boy, Leah. I can more than control myself, and if all we do is kiss, then that's more than I could ask for. Do you understand?" "I want to know that I have you on the same fucking edge you've had me dangling on for weeks now, desperate to know how you feel, taste, sound when you're coming apart." "You are everything and don't even see it. You're smart, and strong, and so beautiful that you make me ache when I look at you." With each heartbeat, I cut another piece of my fear free, let it fall, and hoped I never caught up with it again.

3.5 ster I wanted to love this just as much as her first series but it wasn't meant to be. The start was slow and I even put the book away for a month. It got better but I didn't love it. It was enjoyable and will definitely read on.
