Willing Captive was a perfect blend of hilarious, romantic, heart-breaking, and swoon-worthy all in one! My emotions went through the ringer with this one, for I found myself swooning one minute, then bawling the next. The characters were fantastically written and you fall in love with them all! *cough* Rock *cough* Belle Aurora has just earned herself a spot on my list for now I'm hunting down everything she's ever written.

Delilah Flynn aka Lily is my kind of heroine. She's 22 years old, and has a lived a life of extreme loneliness due to her father's protectiveness. 

Her only escape is through the hundreds of books the she occupies her time with, escaping into stories and living vicariously through them. 

She works for her fathers company but other than that spends the rest of her time at home. She's pretty much a voluntary hermit.

Lily's life is forever changed however, when she is blindfolded and kidnapped to live a life in captivity away from her family. Only problem is, she finds herself falling in love with one of her captors, Nox.

While Lily is in "captivity" she has a love-hate relationship with one of her captors, Nox. Nox is the guy in charge of the operation and he is broody, cold, stoic and looks like a falling angel, not to mention he has ice blue eyes that often show no emotion. He has a job to do and Lily and her feisty attitude are not making it easy for him or his "employees".

As Lily and Nox are forced to spend increasing amounts of time together, an attraction begins to form which soon has both of them unable to deny their deep feelings. I'm not going to go into details about this, for it would be very easy to reveal spoilers.

When picking this one up, don't let the cover fool you. THIS IS NOT A DARK ROMANCE. It has sadness, grief, and anger but it's mostly a light-hearted romance. I would recommend this novel to everyone for it has a little something in it for everyone. Overall, this was a fantastic read!

I know you should never judge a book by its cover, but I definitely did have some preconceived notions of this book going in. I thought this was going to be a dark book. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Despite a couple darker moments, the book was relatively light. It was funny and sexy; it had heart. This is the first of Belle Aurora’s books that I’ve read, but it certainly won’t be the last.

Delilah “Lily” Flynn doesn’t have the life of a typical 22 year old woman. Her dad is wealthy and overprotective. Her only friend is her sister, Terah. If she wants to leave the house, she has to take an escort with her. She’s adapted though. She has her eReader and her bedroom is her sanctuary. This is her existence; she’s embraced it. Until the night she’s taken from her room by a stranger, that is. It’s then that she really begins living life.

Lily finds herself in a strange place with three mysterious people: Nox, Rock and Boo. She comes to find out that they have been her security team. Her dad has been receiving threats against his girls and this was one of the ways he was protecting them. After some time, Lily becomes friends with Rock and Boo. She’s also intensely attracted to Nox. The attraction is mutual, though he has no plans to act on it. He doesn’t do relationships. He’s supposed to be protecting her. As much as he might want her, she’s off limits…

  
    “I know it’s highly unusual for people to get this excited over books. But if you’re a reader, you get me. I don’t need movies. I don’t need TV. But books… I can’t live without books. To me, a book is better than any movie. All I need is a good book, my imagination, and I am set free. I’m in literature heaven.”
  


  
    “I don’t need you to protect me right now, Nox. I need your mouth on me. I need to know why I feel like this, and if it’s just a thing, or if it’s more. You told me to do what I had to do. All I want is a kiss.” Dipping my chin, I whisper, “Just a kiss.”
  

I had a bit of a hard time relating to Lily in some ways, but I was able to relate to her passion about books. I liked her as a character, she was just too innocent and sheltered for me at the beginning. There was a spark to her that I loved, though. She was feisty. She was funny. She was likable. Nox intrigued me. He was hot as hell. He was tough and smart. He was protective of Lily. He was a total bad-ass. It was obvious that he was keeping secrets and I couldn’t wait to find out more about him. Boo and Rock were both also amazing characters. I’m holding out hope that they get their own book in the future.

  
    “You know how when a guy and girl really like each other in a book, they talk about a spark between them? With Nox, there is no spark. No. He bypassed the spark. When Nox touches me, there’s nothing less than the whistling, shrieking explosions of fireworks. Big ones. The ones they save till the end of the show. The ones people hang around to get a glimpse of.”
  

I absolutely loved Lily and Nox together. They challenged each other, they amused one another. Their chemistry was intense and the sexual tension leapt off the pages. It was easy to see how much they cared about each other, too. They may have been brought together under some seriously strange circumstances, but it worked. Whether they were having sweet or sexy moments, fighting or teasing the other, I loved it. They made a very interesting and unpredictable couple.

This book completely took me by surprise. There was a moment during which I thought I was going to throw my iPad across the room. But I’m glad I restrained myself… for many reasons. Tears were shed. Many of them. I loved that this book took me through a full range of emotions. It was completely unputdownable. Everything from the characters to the plot twists to the dialogue between characters sucked me in. I enjoyed all of it. This book had the perfect mix of drama and romance, with just a hint of mystery. I love a good, unpredictable read. If you do too, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.
