Volume I of this two-volume interpretation of Nietzsche’s writings contains papers on this central topic in Nietzsche’s philosophy, some of them previously unpublished, others comprehensively revised and extended. They show the development of the author's interpretation of The Will to Power, which was first presented in 1971 and has been the subject of much discussion since. The interpretation of becoming as The Will to Power has been decisively influenced by the compilation of the unpublished writings of Nietzsche’s sister.
