What a rollercoaster this was. The ending was brilliant - it wasn’t rushed but it didn’t drag on, the characters were so diverse and deep and the plot that mirrored the original tale of Alice worked so well. Read it now!

What can you say about Wonderland… Was it all just a dream. This book was eye opening and insightful on a few levels. It’s about a journey of Self Discovery that is amazing to read in fiction but to me this came alive as a Movie in my Head. There are lots of twists and turns to behold and you never know quite where you are going to go until you get there… But as the Back Cover says What Happens when you fall done the Rabbit Hole!

Loved it! Alice was an amazing character. ♥

A unique take on the classic Alice in Wonderland, this book deals with many serious issues including drug abuse, sexual assault, mental health and self-harm. The story focuses on Alice, a 17 year old transgender girl who attends an elite school in London. As she gets caught up in a world of exclusive parties and illegal drug use (there is a LOT of drug use in this book), she tries to find out who is the real Alice. It was referencing to see a book where being trans is normalised - for Alice being trans is not the biggest issue in her life by any means. Her mental health is the real battle for her and I think this is important as trans people are far more than just a gender identity which can sometimes be forgotten. The story is thrilling and although I struggled at times with the drug use, overall I found this to be a fascinating insight into the life of a trans person. As it deals with so many disturbing topics I would recommend this for older teens and young adults as some of the content would not be suitable for younger readers. It is however an important book for older readers because if the insights it gives. I also found the coping strategies Alice was given for her anxiety by her counsellor were helpful for me too.
