this. THIS was so much better than twok tbh, i might be too generous rating twok 😬😬😬 the funniest sanderson’s book i’ve ever read so far. with a balanced amount of magical element, epic fights and battles, great character development and pacing. it does not have a lot of shocking twist like the first book, but definitely so much better and soooo much fun!!!!!

it’s 3 am but i finished! so wild loved the lore and character arc

this was actually so cool like i dont have anything bad to say about it its just really entertaining

Somehow even better than the first book… Would rate it 6 stars if i could

Noch besser als der erste Teil. Tolles Leseerlebnis für Fantasy-Fans.
Detailliertes character building und developing und epische Kampfsezenen.

So fully invested in this world I've actually started thinking of "Storms!" as an acceptable curse-word in my every day life. I much prefer reading these books in halves as it allows me to not feel so guilty for stopping a book halfway through as they come to a resounding and semi-conclusive resolution in my head. The problem is, however, that I buy both books at the same time so with the endings being so encapsulating, it makes me desperately want to start the second half. But I don't want to burn out so I'm taking a little break.

Brimming with confidence, imagination and intrigue I am absolutely loving this series and I think the books being split into two separate books particularly helps as I then allow myself a month or so in between each so I don't get burned out. This series just keeps getting more imaginative, more intriguing and oozes confidence at every angle. What I mean by this is that Sanderson knows exactly where he's going with each story and sub-story and as a result, it is told to perfection. An absolute joy to read! Oh and Shallan is incredible.

WHAT AND I REPEAT WHAT THE FRICK

An epic sequel to The Way of Kings that does not disappoint. It is astounding to see this characters literally grow as I read, I don't know how Sanderson does it. This series has it all: engaging characters, interesting magic system, great lore. Love it!

New favorite

Liked this better than the first, I think. The magic gets a lot more attention and explanation now that the world has been established, and the ending was really well done. That said, there were several plotlines that were just too arduous and slow (specifically in the middle). Was definitely a slog, but worth it in the end.

Loved the sequel— after familiarizing myself with the world in the first book, the plot was easier to follow in this book. I also felt a lot more concern for the characters in the sequel as well.

Words of Radiance: 4/5 BRUH I FINISHED IT!!! What a MONSTER of a book. This should count has two books on Goodreads. I cant believe how good this series is when the books are so hefty. Definitely not something I felt like I would enjoy but I am absolutely enthralled & it is surprisingly easy to read. Don't be intimidated by the size, its an amazing story that'll have you BREEZING through! Can't wait for Oathbringer :)

last two hundred pages….. couldn’t put it DOWN!!!

Well damn, idk how he’s gonna top that ending in the next one. Shallan gets such amazing development in this one. Such good character writing for all of them. There wasn’t a single POV character that would get me to groan when it switch to them.

Not enough stars to rate this book!

My review: https://mattstein.com/books/words-of-radiance

it's a really good book, don't get me wrong, but man was it long and slow. a bit too long and too slow to satiate my easily-distracted tastes.

Holy Shit

4.5 stars This book was more fun than the first! I loved learning more about Shallan and Kaladin and Adolin. The action was really great too.

UHHHHH, this book is perfect. I'm so glad I'm re-reading all these!

Uuuuuuuuugh. Why are these books so AMAZING? I can't wait for book 3!!!!!

This is insane.

She felt the rain on her skin. The Rider of Storms was a traitor, yes - but you could not have a traitor who had not originally been a friend.

Honor is dead, but I’ll see what I can do.
How is this like the 4th of 5th time I have read this book and I still bawl at this line/moment. Come on.

“Honor is dead,” a voice whispered from beside him. Dalinar turned and looked at Captain Kaladin. He hadn’t noticed the bridgeman walking down the steps behind him. Kaladin took a deep breath, then looked at Dalinar. “But I’ll see what I can do.

“Desks are for boring people," Shallan said. "And for people who don’t have a squishy bed."
Relatable

You apply to be emperor?" Lift said. "Sure," he said. "Lots of paperwork involved in that. And an And an essay. You essay has to be really good to get this job."
Dry humour

Kaladin glanced at Teft, who shrugged. "I like him." Yake chuckled. "That's because he's almost as grouchy as you are, Teft. “I ain’t grouchy," Teft snapped. "I just have a low threshold for stupidity."
