2.5 stars - fast and easy read. Unfortunately, this one was not for me. I felt like the rules for time travelling were very vague and the time difference (1h in the past being 1 min in the present, but the days did not add up to this) didn't make sense to me. The romance was rushed and lacked explanation as to how they fell in love. This book is romance based and not plot based, so nothing really happens... I'm glad I read it tho bcs it was on my tbr for a while.

There’s a lot to like here. The premise is really interesting. It was also refreshing for a character with so many intersecting identities to be comfortable in himself even as he grows and changes. The pacing felt a rushed and I wish we had more time for the relationships between the characters to develop. I think that would have intensified the emotional impact of the story.

I have come to realise that I am not a fan of time-travelling stories. But despite that, I really did enjoy and appreciate this book. 

The storyline is something similar to what we have seen before - if you love forbidden romance tropes this is a book you should absolutely pick up. Within the plot, Jackson explores themes of race, sexuality, history, grief and loss. However, many of these themes felt only surface deep, things that could have been pushed much further if the author had chosen. 

Overall, Yesterday is History is a book that will tug at your heartstrings without completely breaking you down. It is a gorgeous and timely romance story that will be perfect for many readers.

Time travel, historical facts, lovable characters, and a well-written story with great pacing made for a great read! Another book I’ll be recommending to anyone who will listen ☺️

- yes i cried both those days
- i had so many opinions while reading this that the drafts on twitter ill be releasing after its been out for a bit and i can post spoilers................
- i loved every character and ignored that i don't like love triangles bc honestly..... it was kinda worth it

This book was absolutely AMAZING. I went to start it while laying down for bed planning to read just a couple chapters and ended up reading the entire book in one sitting. Next thing I knew it was 3am and I felt broken and happy at the same time. This beautiful book captures time travel in such a new and unique way while also traveling the road of finding yourself and choosing your own paths in life. I loved every single character and found myself laughing and tearing up more than once through this book. Love love love and highly recommend to everyone!
