PLEASE READ FLAT-OUT LOVE BEFORE YOU READ THIS REVIEW! I thought this was the perfect companion/sequel to Jessica Park’s Flat-Out Love. It didn’t retell the whole story under Matt’s POV but several chapters that gave us a better insight of how his feelings developed for Julie and what he thought of her when he was Finn. The book contains two prequel chapters; one with Matt and Finn spending quality brother time together (before the accident), while the other is when Flat-Finn is introduced to the Watkinses. From the very first pages you can already see how close Matt and Finn are. It’s like one of those sibling relationships you’re jealous of. Brothers, who look after each other and spend quality time together. I’m pretty jealous, being an only child and all. I have best friends who are like my siblings but it’s not the same when it’s your flesh and blood and you have to see them all the time. “Finn, shut up. You’ve been engaging in sordid activities with quite a number of women. And I’m pretty sure some of the things you’ve done are illegal in a few states.” “Damn straight they are!” He clapped his hands together and looked at Matt, “I’m a sophomore in college, what do you expect? Seriously, so things are, uh, good between you and this unspeakable loose Ellen character?” I haven’t read too many, but there’s just something I love about reading books from the male POV. It shows how much they secretly care about the girl, considering they all pretend they don’t have feelings or are stone cold bad boys. It makes me all warm and SQUISHY inside. YES SQUISHY! I just want to awwww whenever Matt starts to worry about Julie. He’s just an adorable geeky guy. The way he’s so smart but can’t bear to hear about anything related to a physical relationship or, as Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory would say coitus. “So then you do believe that Julie will be returning back here tonight? I had wondered if perhaps this was going to be an overnight excursion, in which case I was unsure about what time to expect her tomorrow.” “Celeste!” “Why are you exhibition a reaction that involves such a chastising tone? I understand that Julie is of an age where one may possibly engage in certain activities that often are conducted only in late hours, during which—“ “Stop right there, please.” Matt held up both hands. “We are not having this conversation or even thinking about this subject matter. Is that clear?” “You may not be thinking about this subject matter, but it directly affects my school project, I am.” Matt and Julie are meant for each other. You can see just by these few chapters that Matt is hopelessly in love with Julie and I’m sure we all strive for such a great love and devotion like that. How you find love means nothing. It’s what you do with it when you see it does. Forget all those sexy tattooed bad boys on motorcycles out there. Fall in love with Matt. Fall in love with a geek/nerd. Give them a chance. I’m sure if you give them a chance they’d surprise you. 5/5 Hearts of Love Read my other reviews at www.akiikomorireading.wordpress.com

I loved reading Flat-Out Love from Matt's point of view! The author picked the best chapters for this as well. I really wanted to see how Matt felt about Julie and the whole Finn thing, and this book really delivered. Plus the last chapter was hot and oh-so-cute. Something I definitely needed after the emotional roller coaster that was Flat-Out Love/Matt. I highly suggest this for those who loved Flat-Out Love!
