I honestly couldn’t decide if I wanted to give this book 3 or 4 stars. All throughout the book I was going back and forth. The book was well-written and I liked the overall storyline, but often I kind of had to force myself to keep on reading which is why I landed on the three stars. It was not so bad that I really debated not finishing it and starting a different book, but it also didn’t interest me enough to no be able to put the book down. To be honest, Sophie really got on my nerves a couple of times as well. 

Also, man I hate the way people feel like they can share whatever they want online.

Perplexed by this book. Trite, prudish characters; a protagonist with no redeeming qualities; all the big plot points skipped over in a blink. And no growth or character development, as the same depressed unemployed drunken 20-something exits exactly as she entered! I kept on thinking, there must be a there there. Reader: there is no there anywhere.

We never know what exactly the main character is saying, just the responses of other characters which is very weird!

Just not it.

Underwhelming. I got fooled by the text on the back of the book, expecting the next Sally Rooney. The characters are very flat and while reading you desperately wish that the narrator would get over herself which she does then on the last three pages. Felt very much like a depression being cured by just deciding not to be sad anymore.
