Wow. This book was so long and really didn’t pick up until part 2 (about 2/3 through the book). It took a long time for me to get into this book but the ending was fairly rewarding and sets up the next books nicely. I was sad when Kaltain died as I thought she’d end up being a bigger point to the plot. I enjoyed when Lysandra came into herself and was being a badass. And also very sad for Dorian all around. I still find her and Rowan very cringe - at this point in her life I sort of wish the romance sub-plot would stop for a bit. Oh and finally I liked Elide, and the beginning of her little journey with one of the keys reminded me a lot of TLOTR.

Good story! Felt a bit rushed sometimes and other times a little drawn out, other than that very good! Really needed for the rest of the series!! Waiting for this moment and still, the plottwists 😮

I had taken a little break from the series after Heir of Fire, so when I picked up Queen of Shadows it took me a while to get back into the story. It was however worth the initial struggle very much, because this book was a masterpiece. The different story lines were perfect and the characters spectacularly written. I enjoyed it so much that I read the last 400 pages in less than 2 days. Truly looking forward to the rest of the series.

It was a great build up in the culmination of the other four books and made the reading experience that much more interesting, especially seeing how’s she’s weaving in her other series (screams in acotar). Her characters are also so unique and layered that it makes me a little sick to think how much they actually mean to me. I will forever love fantasy series and miss Sarah J. Maas ate with this one. Might be her best book yet (I’ll confirm once I finish the series)!

absolute bonkers town. what a fucking plot. what a fucking story. what fucking characters. it’s BEYOND BELIEF that a human wrote these words, and conjured up this story and its too real. everyone in here is my friend and i love. i love everyone in here. i LOVED this book so much
